On the garage floor, the sound of the last remaining tooth being viciously ripped out, gums and all, erupted. Ultimately, the extraction of all the teeth consumed close to two hours. Obviously, I could not pull out all the teeth with pliers, so I removed all the teeth from Akane’s mouth by various means, such as cutting off part of the gum, crushing, grinding, and… taking away all the function of “chewing” from Akane by my hand.
“Hmm, I see the majority of things have been taken care of…”
While wiping the perspiration from my forehead, I put down the reddened pliers on the floor and caught my breath. For now, the bulk of the work has been wrapped up.
From Akane’s mouth, white teeth were wiped out, and in the narrow space spread only the vermilion of the swollen gums and the red color from hemorrhage.

By the time all the processes were concluded, Akane’s face was tear-stained.
Even throughout the procedure, Akane’s throat had dried up, making it difficult for her to scream—which was reasonable considering that she had been watching the gradual removal of her own teeth right up until the very end without blacking out. The continuous torrent of pain she had never experienced before must have driven Akane to repent for her mistakes.
“Thank you for your hard work, Akane. You put in a lot of effort, didn’t you? Thanks to that, the inside of your mouth is much cleaner now, isn’t that great?”
I withdrew the bloodied and drool-covered mouth prop, and for the first time in two hours, freedom was restored to Akane’s mouth. I then gently stroked Akane’s hair.
“Gah… hah…!”
Simultaneously with the mouth prop being removed, Akane coughed violently. From her mouth, a stream of deep crimson blood and drops of saliva leaked out, running down and staining the floor in its path.
“Cough… hah… ah… ahh.”
“For a while, it will be hard to speak because of your tongue… but you will get accustomed to it. Besides, I can equally rest easy at last. With this… you can’t do anything foolish like that anymore.”
Wreckage of the teeth lay unceremoniously on the floor. Even parts of her vermilion gums were scattered vividly. Indeed, Akane no longer had a single bad tooth left to gnaw away at her bottom. Only a space of flesh that constituted the gums stretched out in Akane’s mouth.
“…U-Urhh… ah…”
At the sight of those things lying on the floor, Akane couldn’t even utter a word. All she could do was moan like an inarticulate beast.
“With this, you’ve come one step closer to my ideal of beauty. Surely, little by little, but steadily… let’s work hard together slowly. It may be painstaking now, but eventually you will come to understand. The truth of my words and actions.”
Bit by bit, I was reconstructing Akane into the form I envisioned. This time, it was a minor change and evolution due to the tooth extraction. Nevertheless, no matter how much time and effort I put into it… I would accompany Akane. Because that was my mission and destiny that was given to me alone.
“Still… continue…? Huh…? Eh…”
Like a madwoman, Akane repeated the same words over and over again.
Tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and the day after that… forever and ever would this continue. Unable to accept such a reality, Akane repeatedly ran her mouth. After 10 or 20 years… there was no guarantee that Akane would be able to get out of here. Akane failed to grasp that.
“Yeah, it will continue. From this point onward forever. But fear not. I will never abandon you or run away from you in the middle of a task. As long as Akane is Akane… I will live with you eternally.”
I touched Akane’s lips and then brought our lips together. The taste of blood was extremely thick.

Akane, on the other hand, neither denied nor affirmed it, but merely grunted like a lunatic who had lost her mind. Akane’s fragile mind was on the verge of collapse, probably from having been through too much in such a short period of time.
