Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 4: Cruelty

It was a human.

To be exact, it was a human youth. He was about ten years old, but he was stronger and taller than his peers. Perhaps because of his long years of exercise, his limbs were slender and filled with explosive power. He was simply like a snow wolf that had just reached adulthood.

The youth had a head of pale gray broken hair. Clearly, his hair had not undergone any modifications. Instead, he had randomly used sharp weapons to deal with it. There was no outline to speak of, but it was filled with a wild and unruly feeling. Especially those bright, ruby-like eyes, which were even more unruly and untamed.

With a faint smile on his face, he walked towards the horned deer. Crouching down, he gently stroked the deer's forehead and said, "I'm sorry, buddy. Food's been hard to find lately, so look, it's hard for me to let you go. Come on, I got you out of this."

He placed his hand on the handle of the dagger and gently pulled it, cutting off the arteries of the horned deer. Strangely, no deer blood spat out from the wound. When the youth pulled the dagger out of the deer corpse, the deer blood on the dagger was almost boiling!

The blood was absorbed by the blade in a mysterious way and eventually disappeared from the dagger. The dagger was as clean as ever, and the golden pattern reflected the sunlight and illuminated a faint circle of light. The youth looked at the dagger and said, "You're getting greedy."

He put the dagger in a leather sheath and pinned it to his waist. He grabbed the horned deer's forelimbs with both hands and carried the larger animal on his back. Walking in the direction of the tree shade, the youth said in a voice that he could only hear, "I hope that Bai Fang eats this deer and can quickly recover."

This youth naturally left Gobi Town with Silver Snow Wolf Bai Fang five years ago. Five years later, he had changed from a little boy to a youth.

During these five years, Alan lived with the wolves. He and Bai Fang hunted together, and in the past few years, he had learned a lot from Bai Fang. Occasionally, when Alan looked at the dagger his mother had left him, he would think of that black and white scene.

The black ground, the white broken finger, and the silver ring on the finger were flowing with a sad light.

Every time he saw this scene, Alan had to bury himself in the winter snow to extinguish the burning flames in his heart. It was filled with hatred for the man who abandoned his wife and son.

Archimedes! The father whom Su Mo had met would one day use an ice-cold dagger to nail into the man's heart!

Almost to the valley where the wolves were, Alan suddenly heard gunshots. His expression changed, and he left the horned deer and ran away with large strides.

Hunters!

That's not good, because the pack of wolves is at a very difficult stage. Bai Fang was injured! Very serious wounds.

Half a year ago, the pack of wolves migrated to a valley in this forest. In the valley, there was a cave several hundred square meters, which was the home of the snow wolves. They migrated here half a year ago. In order to win the right to use the cave, Bai Fang fought with the original owner of the cave, a giant crypt spider that was also a Third Grade dangerous species.

In the end, the giant spider was torn to shreds by Bai Fang, but Bai Fang was also seriously injured by the giant spider's dying counterattack.

Half a year later, Bai Fang's condition was not good. Its fur was no longer as silver as it had been when Alan first saw it. They turned ashen and fell off. Some parts of Bai Fang's body had already decayed. The air around the Silver Snow Wolf was filled with the smell of death.

If they were attacked by the hunters now, the pack of wolves would probably be reluctant to evacuate because of Bai Fang, giving the hunters a chance to catch them all in one go. Snow Wolf had never given up on any of his companions, and this quality was also rooted in Allen's soul.

The youth sprinted, and in the blink of an eye, he was already outside the valley.

From afar, they could see several soldiers firing at the valley. The valley was filled with thick yellow smoke and a pungent smell. Snow wolves were forced out by the smoke. Before they could figure out the situation, the soldiers shot them into corpses. After one of the particularly strong male wolves was shot, he still rushed over bravely. Seeing that he was about to charge through the soldiers' firepower net, Gu Te grabbed the rifle in his hand and fired a long shot, causing it to roll a few times on the ground. Following which, a few shots directly sent it flying. The snow wolf was still twitching on the ground, but it was unable to get up again.

That's Tony! A lazy but decent wolf.

Allen's originally bright red eyes were now as red as if they were about to bleed. He let out a tender howl and threw his hands and feet onto a camphor tree, then onto the back of a soldier. Allen was as nimble as a monkey. The moment he rushed forward, he pulled out his dagger and wiped the soldier's throat, killing the soldier.

"Damn it!" A nearby white soldier shouted, pulling out a pistol from his waist and shooting it at Alan.

Having lived in the mountains for many years, Alan had developed a beast-like instinct that allowed him to quickly avoid the shooting. He landed on the ground and then slid down towards the white soldier. The dagger brought out a ribbon of light in the afternoon sun, and the tendon in the soldier's foot was immediately snapped. He cried out in pain and knelt down. Alan bounced up from behind him and pounced on him like a wolf.

The dagger flashed again, wiping the soldier's throat and killing him!

The gunshot rang out, and Alan was shot in the right shoulder, and the dagger fell to the ground. He pounced forward knowingly, and the corpses of the soldiers who had turned into temporary masks jumped repeatedly. The young man picked up the dagger and bit it into his mouth. His hands and feet quickly slid sideways and dodged. In his line of sight, he caught sight of Gu Te's furious face.

In just a few seconds, a white-haired little ghost had actually been killed in a row. This was a rumor that Gu Te's mercenary squad would probably be laughed at in the spring of next year. Gu Te was furious in his heart, and his attacks were even more ruthless and ruthless. The pistol bullets jumped and shot after Ellen. Alan's agility was beyond his imagination. He moved in a zigzag trajectory, causing Gooder's firing to fail.

After a few sideslips, Alan cut into Gooder's dead end. He forcefully bounced up from the ground, his mouth loosened, and the dagger fell and was caught by his left hand. Alan's pupils dilated, and his blood spun rapidly. The tip of the dagger in his hand flipped and stabbed at Gooder's throat with a ray of light. Gu Te gritted his teeth and pointed at Alan's forehead with his left hand.

Just as the two of them were about to fight to the death, a palm suddenly appeared out of thin air, tightly gripping Allen's wrist and throwing him away. Alan smashed into the tree trunk, and then a fist swept across his face, causing Alan's entire body to fall to the ground. The last foot stepped on his head, and the strength of the foot was increasing, as if it was going to explode Allen's head.

"Don't kill him." Guild Leader Andy shouted.

"Why?" A woman's voice came from above.

"That brat looks like he was raised by a snow wolf, a wolf child. Hey, don't you think this is a windfall? Perhaps some adults in Babylon would like to have a new pet." "Besides, that old man Hern doesn't want a boy without any records to take his son's place in the survival game. I think he'll be happy to pay a big price," Andy said, spreading his hands.

Alan barely moved his head, and the woman's thigh could be seen at the corner of his eye. She lowered her head and spat at the youth, "You're lucky, kid."

At this moment, a desolate wolf howl sounded from the valley. Hearing this howl, Alan's heart tightened. It was Bai Fang.

Andy also raised his hand excitedly, telling Gu Te's soldiers not to act rashly. A moment later, a swaying snow wolf walked out from the valley. Bai Fang's appearance had changed a lot, and she was no longer dressed in the shining silver hair that she had when she first met Allen. Not only is its hair lacking in luster, but it has also fallen off in large patches. There were even traces of decay in the depilation area.

The only thing that hadn't changed was that pair of clear blue eyes.

When Andy saw Bai Fang, the smile on his face froze. He then hugged his head and shouted angrily, "What the hell is this thing? Silver Snow Wolf? Well, it might have been, but now? I spent so much manpower and material resources. Could it be that I was just hunting for something that was about to die?"

With Bai Fang's current appearance, even if Andy killed it unharmed, he obviously wouldn't be able to sell it for a good price. As Andy cursed endlessly, Bai Fang looked at Alan. As her eyes met, Alan knew that Bai Fang was asking herself why she didn't leave.

Alan smiled stubbornly.

Bai Fang understood. She let out another low roar and started running. Just like Alan wouldn't give up on it, he wouldn't give up on the pack of wolves. Bai Fang also used her own actions to repay his loyalty, because she had long regarded Alan as a member of the pack of wolves. Letting the cubs live was the eternal law of the wolves!

As Bai Fang flew towards the position, Andy let out a strange cry and jumped towards it. Bai Fang opened her mouth and spat out an icy breath. Unfortunately, it was summer, and Bai Fang's body was weak. The ice aura she spat out was thin and thin. Andy didn't even need to dodge. He directly passed through the breath of ice and punched Bai Fang's head heavily.

Bai Fang immediately pounced on the ground.

It shook its head, bounced off the ground and bit at Andy. The latter's body twisted strangely, causing Bai Fang to bite empty. Next, Andy just swam around Bai Fang. In the eyes of others, he simply did not understand what he was doing. However, in Alan's eyes, he could see purple strands of Origin Energy continuously emanating from Andy's fingertips. They were as slender as spider silk, but they gradually wrapped around Bai Fang.

The more Origin Energy threads wrapped around her body, the slower Bai Fang's movements became. In the end, Bai Fang could barely move. Andy patted his head and smiled at Ellen. Then, he pulled his left and right hands that were connected to the Origin Energy Line, causing Bai Fang to instantly shatter!

Alan's pupils dilated to the limit.

"No!"

He screamed, not knowing where the strength came from, causing him to raise his head. Hina revealed a surprised expression, then cursed softly and stomped Ellen back on her feet. Once again, he sank heavily into the dirt, leaving Alan with only one eye to see the outside world. Her gaze caught Bai Fang's eyes, and her head was cut off in unison. Her pair of blue eyes looked at Alan quietly.

Just like that night five years ago, Lanny and he had a final look. Wu Wu's glance was filled with too many emotions to be expressed in words.

Alan looked straight at Bai Fang as if he wanted to engrave his eyes into his soul.

A great sorrow drowned him.

But he didn't cry.

Five years ago, he lost Lanny.

Five years later, he lost Bai Fang again.

Now, there was only one person left. The world was still as cruel as ever.
