Chapter 23: Incredibly Tasty Wolf Meat
Sitting around the bonfire, he enjoyed the food and dancing at the same time. It was similar to the tradition of the Indian Tribes during food distribution.
He did not forget the wolf meat. After scalding, he cleaned the meat with the natural river water. Then, he put the fat into the pot, followed by the wolf meat. The fat was fried until a golden color and the Sichuan pepper, mushrooms, and black fungus were added in. He used the knife for stir-frying.
He estimated the portion with his finger then put in the salt. The dish needed to stew until the meat turned soft. The meat was then cut into pieces like tofu, with the color turning a golden yellow, and garnished with the black fungus and mushrooms. It was a huge sin by just looking at this wolf meat stew.
B-Dog had an appetite, “Friends, this is the main course. I have been looking forward to it.”
“Stop talking. If you discontinued acting cool, we can still be good friends.”
“It is too much; you should not act cool like this. Or else I will call the police.”
“It is too torturing.”
B-Dog laughed and started to enjoy the food. He tasted the first piece, chewed the juicy meat and swallowed it. He did not say anything but his facial expression had told the audience about his feelings. The pop-up comments was full of the messages from the audience “Do not say it.”, “Please don’t say it.” but he ignored them. He explained,
“The meat is well cleaned, without any bad smell and unpleasant odor. I use the pure natural stream water and natural rabbit oil to fry, stew and braise the meat. I also added the top quality Lion’s Mane Mushroom and black fungus to embellish the taste. The meat is relatively tough. It is chewy, springy yet firm, accompanied by the smell of mushroom and black fungus. Generally, it tastes like dog meat, yet the texture is tougher than the dog meat.”
“There is a saying; the taste of dog meat taste can make celestials drunk. I think wolf meat is even better.”
“I read a book before. It is talking about an old scholar who traveled to the countryside of Beijing. He ate the wolf meat together with other people and he could never forget it. The book wrote ‘A big bowl of wolf meat and a bottle of local wine are on the table. I have tried the wild goose, small bird and mud fish before. Definitely, they are not as tasty as the wolf meat.’”
“This is my first time trying the wolf meat. It is special and unforgettable to eat it under this atmosphere and together with two million people. However, I think there is room for improvement for this wolf cuisine. Wolves are carnivorous animals unlike the rabbit. The wolf meat has a heavy smell and I do not have a good environment or good seasoning, I have to admit that I am not doing a good job. I would rate myself 80 marks. I hope to get better ingredients in future.”
Finally, he was full. B-Dog stood up and stretched his body, he said: “I am full. Let me boil the water and add some sweet root. A cup of tea after a meal, that’s the life.”

He came to the riverside and saw a few black shadows were swimming in the water which kept biting the internal organs of the animal. They did not realize the danger. B-Dog smiled and put a stone to block the gap. He smiled and said, “My luck is pretty good.”
While the people were guessing whether he would take off his shoes to go into the water, B-Dog said, “The water is very clear, it is glacier water.”
“What is glacier water? It is the extremely cold water. In the negative temperature of the jungle, if you touch the water, your heart might not take it. You will feel the extreme cold but you are also able to see everything under the river. If there is a choice, I really don’t want to go down. If there is a chance next time, I will teach you all the self-saving technique if one falls into the hole during winter. But now is not the right time. The water is shallow so I do not need to go down to catch the fish.”
The audience saw him taking the hunting knife out. He stood on the river stones and noticed the swimming path of the fishes. He then wielded the knife like lighting and a fish was thrown to the shore. He did not stop; he kept wielding the knife once he saw a target. The white fishes were pulled up to shore one after another. Without the water, the fish died quickly. In an instant, there were no more black shadows in the river.
Returning to the shore, he collected the fish. He made a rough count; there were 8 fishes, both big and small!
He removed the fish scales and cut open the stomach to remove the internal organs. Next, he took some water weeds and weaved them into rope. He strung the fishes together and said, “This is the cold water fish which is common in the northeast. This is Dog Fish. It has a long body with spots and usually appears during spring, when the river is thawing. The taste is good.”
“This is Lenok, a kind of fish which has a smooth scale. Among the freshwater fish, it is a glutton fish. It eats insect larvae and small fish. Lenok meat is smooth, it is high in protein, low in fat and the fish egg is the precious supplement. It is called as the ‘Imperial Fish’ during Qing Dynasty.”
“In conclusion, I have good food tonight. I can even have delicious fish soup tomorrow morning.”
The audience was stunned. “Who else catches fish like this? Indeed, mighty Lord B-Dog. Catching fish can also look so cool.”, “Such a sumptuous ingredient. You have fish, meat and ginseng. Are you sure you are in the wild?”, “Lord B-Dog, you have my respect. You are incredible. If I don’t call you lord, I am very wrong.”
He returned with the fish and the water had boiled. He sat down and took a rest. While drinking tea, he chatted with the audience.
As he looked strange while drinking tea, the audience kept asking him what the taste of tree root tea was.
B-Dog frowned and said after few seconds, “It tastes like the lemon added with salt, it is very strange. However, it can provide Vitamin C, Vitamin E and other nutrients to me. Being an after meal tea, it passes.”
After a while, he packed his luggage and continued his journey. “I can leave the jungle along the river but my target of this trip is to cross over it. I plan to move forward to the north. It could be my illusion but I feel danger nearby. It seems like many eyes are watching me in the dark.”
“Before I leave, I want to remind you all, do not forget to put out the fire. In the jungle, you should not be careless, even it is winter. A spark can cause a jungle fire. Accident, what is an accident? When it happens out of expectation then it is called as an accident. Now I would like to teach you how to put out the fire using the quickest way.”
He ended his talk and looked at the camera. Dog Egg understood him and it filmed from the sky. The audiences were still wondering when they heard the sound like a current splashing with the fire.
“!!!”
Three giant exclamation marks were on their heads. This guy could pee in front of 2.6 million people like nothing happened.
“Bravo, I take my hat off!”
“An anchor broadcast how he pees and earned a monthly salary of more than a million.”
“Lord B-Dog, I dare you to show it. I promise I won’t kill you.”
B-Dog mocked, “It is not like I don’t want to show. I care about your feelings, I worry you would feel inferior. I am already handsome. I have an increasing number of female followers. If I show my d*ck, how would the other male followers survive? People say big things live well, that is exactly talking about me. He-he.”

B-Dog pretended to cough to cover up. After he made sure there were no sparks left, he carried his bag and continued his journey.
