Cen Pan shuddered and looked straight at Old Master Ye, only to see him pointing at the bookshelf beside him.

“Turn that vase around.”

She went forward and did as she was told. The bookshelf slid open silently, revealing a hole that allowed a person to pass through. It was dark inside and there was no end to it.

“Get in quickly.”

Old Master Ye urged. Cen Pan didn’t think too much and hurried in. The door of the passageway closed very quickly.

No one noticed that the soil outside the backyard of the villa was suddenly pushed up.

“Phew.” Cen Pan coughed and climbed up the pit before carefully covering the wooden board.

Old Master Ye watched over her from the side and reminded her softly, “Hurry up and leave. It’ll be troublesome when they come back.”

“Got it.” Cen Pan agreed and ran away quickly with awe.

As expected of Old Master Ye. He even arranged a secret passage in his villa. Even Ye Xiao probably did not know about it.

When they reached the main road, Cen Pan hailed a taxi and told Old Master Ye the address.

“Red Sun District.”

This was the oldest district in A City. It was filled with dilapidated red brick buildings from the last century. Even the aisles were covered in mud.

Cen Pan had just gotten off the car when she saw two similarly illusory figures beside Old Master Ye.

The man on the left looked similar to Old Master Ye. The woman on the right was gentle and beautiful. Her eyes and brows were even more similar to Ye Xiao’s.

Without Old Master Ye’s explanation, Cen Pan knew that they were Ye Xiao’s biological parents.

“Girl, go to the left.” Ye Zhentian pointed at the residential building on the left. “Go to the last east building, then the middle room on the third floor.”

Cen Pan nodded and quickly ran over to knock on the door according to Father Ye’s instructions.

A disheveled man opened the door in a daze and cursed, “You’re looking for me again. When can you let me off the hook?”

When the Ye family’s couple saw him, their bodies shook with agitation.

“That’s right, girl. They didn’t move. He’s Jiang Yao’s gambler husband.”

Cen Pan noted it and looked at the man coldly. “I’m here to collect the electricity bill. How long are you going to owe me the bill?”

“What are you rushing me for? I’ll hand it over immediately.”

After saying that, the man slammed the door shut. From inside the house came his incessant scolding. He seemed to be on the phone and was probably informing Jiang Yao.

Cen Pan ignored him and followed Father Ye’s instructions to go down to the empty space behind the building.

Her gaze locked on a large patch of black dirt.

“Lass, dig.” Father Ye hugged his wife beside him. His gaze was sad. “Dig to the bottom and you can see her corpse.”

Tears welled up in Mrs. Ye’s eyes and trickled down her cheeks.

Affected by their emotions, Cen Pan’s mood also became gloomy. She didn’t say anything else and found a shovel to dig up the black soil bit by bit.

Bang! The sound of metal hitting bone rang out. Cen Pan shivered. She carefully wiped away the soil and saw a glaring white spot.

It was Mrs. Ye’s skeleton.

“I finally found it.”

Cen Pan wiped her sweat and took out her phone. She called Ye Xiao with the number that Old Master Ye told her.

“Come to Red Sun District immediately. I’ve found your mother’s body. Jiang Yao is an imposter, and her real husband and daughter are here.”

Ye Xiao’s shocked voice came through the receiver.

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

“You’ll understand once you’re here.” Cen Pan rubbed her brows. “I’m going to call the police. Mr. Ye, you have to hurry.”

With that, she hung up decisively and called the police.
