Game Making: Start By Healing the Player

Chapter 9

The next storyline…

A young lord from the Warring States era.

Her mission and duty was to protect her clan from destruction.

One day, she found a magical bronze mirror that allowed her to travel to an incredible place.

Here, there was no war and everyone was living freely and happily. Fascinated by the prosperity, she unknowingly meets him: an otaku who wasn’t too far gone.

Their first meeting was very unpleasant and they even fought.

She lost, and according to the customs of her world, she recognizes him as her husband.

When she was hungry, he took her out to eat.

A simple meal of pork chops and rice was enough to shock her: “That’s a lot of meat, it costs a lot of money, doesn’t it?

Because in her world, commoners couldn’t afford to eat meat.

Here, she also tasted an alcohol called beer for the first time.

”What is this, it’s so delicious.” Drunkenly, she hugged the bottle and said happily.

This was probably the most relaxed she had ever been.

After her hangover she woke up and picked up the bronze mirror that brought her to this world.

She brought the otaku back to her world with her.

It didn’t bring much change though.

In her world, everything was as it was before.

The Ketsuno family is still the same, nearly broken, with dangerous enemies looming over the horizon.

Perhaps the only thing that had changed was this ‘husband’, who didn’t seem very impressive.

He became the leader of her personal guard, but that was all.

Even with his arrival, the destruction of the Ketsuno could not be prevented in the end.

Two months later, she sat on the city wall, covered in bloodstains, the blood from the long war turning the land red.

The corpses outside the city were piled like mountains, and the sound of the battering ram at the gates shook the skies.

They wouldn’t last much longer.

Staring at the scene, she knew she had failed, she was powerless to protect her clan in this chaotic world.

“It seems that Ketsuno’s three hundred years of glory are about to be wiped off”.

The otaku struggled to convince her to flee, but she just shook her head gently.

“Beloved, I am different from you, since the day my lord father put the war robe on me, I swore…  to spend my life protecting the glory of the Ketsuno family.”

The otaku brought up a lot of examples and arguments, trying to convince her that the power of the world was constantly divided and united, and that hers was not the first clan to be wiped out, nor would it be the last. There was no point to this sacrifice.

“Beloved, you don’t understand, here lies the dreams and blood of generations of Ketsuno, take this bronze mirror and save yourself.”

She told him everything.

When he heard this, he begged her to go with him.

But she had her convictions, so how could she agree?

If she was willing to leave those convictions behind, why would she bother coming back to this hell after tasting paradise?

Closing her eyes, she felt that his voice seemed to have disappeared from around her, only the sound of the enemy breaching the gates was imminent.

“Beloved, are you gone? Really… gone… actually, I really want to go with you.”

“I want to drink beer with you again, ah… that beer was really good… really good…”

Her tears flowed uncontrollably.

Memories of the past resurfaced, and a risque figure holding up a glass of beer appeared in the center of the screen.

“Husband, this beer is so good! How about two more cups? Look, I’ve drunk it all, you should have a drink too, come on, cheers!”

And in this trance, she seemed to vaguely hear his voice.

“DIE !!!! I am the captain of Ketsuno Ana’s personal guards, those who stand in my way, will be killed without mercy ! !”

Looking at the game that had returned to the main menu, Jiang Ping couldn’t help but sniffle a little before closing his somewhat sore eyes.

It took him a long time to open them.

“Fuck!”

“This fucking game! A Gal game, what’s with the illustrations being so good, the voice acting being so good, the match-3 battle system being so good, doesn’t it cost money!?”

“I just wanted fap material, why are you making me feel!”

While he was complaining with his mouth, Jiang Ping didn’t have the slightest hesitation with his hand.

Of course, it wasn’t to use the lotion, but rather shutting down the game, then decisively entering the shop and putting in a positive review.

The platform allows refunds for a limited time, but not if you leave a review.

That didn’t matter though, there was no need to judge any further.

With what he had just experienced, Jiang Ping felt that it was already worth it.

He even thought that the manufacturer was really a fool to sell it for just 10 yuan.

……………………

It wasn’t just Jiang Ping, through many unknown overseas forums, many LSP players had purchased and tried the game out of curiosity.

And when they got out, they were all overwhelmed with emotion.

For some it was the story.

The story of elves and demons made them think about the good and evil of humanity.

Humans were sabotaging themselves, but instead an outsider elf helped them, only for her kindness to be repaid with spite.

The story of the Otaku and the Female Shogun moved them.

He drifted through life like a waste of space, but in the end, when he had the chance to leave, he exhibited courage and commitment that was unimaginable to the average person.

The story of the Dragon Maid and the Knight is a long and wonderful adventure.

Who can be compared to us when our achievements extend back to Yao and Shun in the past?

(功盖昔尧舜,谁可与我同 = basically a boast of how great they are)

Because of us, evil behemoths dare not threaten the land; because of us, greedy rulers dare not oppress the people.

The story of the Zombie girl Caiyun and Mingyue has brought tears to the eyes of many LSPs.

Even if you are the reincarnation of the Bright Moon, the clear wind is the clear wind. Some things are simply unchangeable and inevitable, no matter your efforts.

Two hundred years of waiting, two hundred years of reincarnation, the story of Ming Yue and Cai Yun should have ended two hundred years ago.

Obviously, it’s the type of game that LSPs love.

Why do they always feel so heavy and sad after playing it?

These players finally understood what the content of the previous posts really meant.

You could say their hearts grew three sizes that day. This is empathy?

Of course, there were also a lot of anxious gentlemen who were turned away right away because they weren’t good at playing match-3 games.

”Little Disciple Sister Caiyun, please don’t suck my blood, open the door for me! I’m your Bright Moon Senior Brother ah, let me look at you ah!

These unfortunate players studied the game’s match-3 combat system over and over again, constantly gathering points and money to upgrade and buy better gear.

Eventually, their brains expanded.

They no longer had interest in the game’s Gal content, but are instead addicted to the game’s match-3 battle system.

Simple and clear, but still very fun.

For a Gal game, it was incredible.

It’s just that the girl next to it is really a bit annoying, because she’s preventing me from playing match-3.

Woman, let go of me and just stand in a corner or something! This time with my wisdom, I can definitely break the previous record!
