Chapter 19: Couple Inn

"What!!?"

Rebecca's eyes widened when she heard Ayaan's story.

"You lived alone in the forest for such a long period?" She asked him again, but without letting him answer, she continued, "So, your parents sacrificed their life for your sake?"

Ayaan, standing not far away from her, had a face filled with melancholy and pain when he told his story.

"Yes, my uncle was jealous of my father and his position. And one day, when my father wasn't in the family, he tried to kill my mother and me. Mother was a powerful mage and saved my life from my uncle but couldn't save her own" Ayaan looked at Rebecca with his teary-eyes and continued, "I was only six years old at that time."

Rebecca looked at his wet eyes with a suspicious expression before asking, "So, how did you end up here?"

"Oh yes, After he killed my mother, his target changed to me, but before he could kill me, my father arrived." Ayaan continued to fabricate his story, and emotions in his eyes were like a man who had to cross mountains of fire to reach this place.

Rebecca didn't know what to think about this situation. Her mind was telling her not to believe his story, but her heart was already sympathizing with this poor boy.

'Sorry, Rebecca, but I can't tell you the truth.' he thought while maintaining his sad look.

" You still didn't tell me how you appeared here?" She asked with impatience written all over her face.

Ayaan also didn't let her wait much before answering her question, "When uncle saw father has returned, he took out a small token and crushed it. Immediately, as he crushed the token, a burst of laughter resounded in the whole palace..."

"Hahaha! How long did I wait for this day to come? And finely today, I am going to bath in your blood!!" a newcomer laughed loudly as he looked at Ayaan's father.

Rebecca was hearing everything very keenly and didn't let go of any details of the story.

"What happened after that man arrived?" Rebecca, who was standing at the side, asked with anticipation.

'Aii… I am such an amazing storyteller but didn't know about it myself' He chuckled, but the painful look from his face never faded.

Ayaan looked at Rebecca. Before continuing, "The man was an old enemy of the father. He immediately attacked my father as he arrived, but my father wasn't easy to target. He fought both of his enemies heroically, but suddenly, my uncle stabbed a dagger from behind my father, and blood flew everywhere."

"Ahhh!" He screamed in pain and agony.

"Father knew he wouldn't be able to hold both men much longer. So, he gave me a badge and smiled at me before saying, 'Son, your father won't be able to protect you anymore, live your life the way you want and never let others control it,' As he said this he crushed the badge in my hand…"

"The last thing I remember was his smile and a dripping sword with his blood, which was coming from his chaste…" As Rebecca saw his sad face, her heart melt and hugged him tightly.

"Don't worry, now what matters is you, nothing else," she said with a gentle voice and didn't press him to tell where he got the spell.

Ayaan felt even worse when he saw how caring this girl was, but the arrow has already left the bow, can't rewind it.

Ayaan sighed in relief when he heard her and wiped the sweat from his temples. 'Which fucker said lying is easy. It's fucking tiring."

Rebecca released him from her hug and walked towards their destination, and neither of them spoke a word throughout the whole journey. The quiet trip didn't last long, and they reached the Izhale, the capital of Caspian.

A very high wall greeted them, a large gate was standing tall in front of them. Sun City will be like a village if you compare it with Izhale.

Rebecca had a calm face, but Ayaan's eyes were already bulging out in shock. The walls were high enough to compare with the 'great wall of china' and can't even imagine how long these walls were. Ayaan was shocked after seeing such an environment and looked in all directions like a curious child.

Rebecca saw a shocked expression on his face and a chuckle left from her mouth, "This is the kingdom's capital, of course, it would be exceptional."

He looked at Rebecca's beautiful face and nodded before asking, "So, how are we going to enter the city?"

She looked at him with a strange gaze before asking, "What do you mean by 'how'? Of course, we will enter the city by a gate."

Ayaan looked at the enormous gate and hundreds of guards who were searching for everyone.

A confused expression appeared on Ayaan's face. He asked, "We never came here, won't they mistake us as some kind of threat if we weren't able to show them proof?"

Rebecca chuckled before replying, "You don't need to care about that, leave everything to me, just stand behind me when our turn comes to enter."

Both Rebecca and Ayaan arrived and joined the long queue. After waiting for half an hour, their turn came for entering. Rebecca took out some kind of seal from her space ring and showed it to the stern-looking guard. The guard nodded after inspecting the seal. He looked at the Ayaan and asked, "Who is he?"

"He is nothing, just a lowly servant, you don't need to waste your time on him," Rebecca replied disdainfully like one of those nobilities in the novels, Ayaan read on the earth.

The guard nodded when he saw a disdainful look on Rebecca's face as she talked about Ayaan.

Servants were just a better name for slaves in this world, and everyone knew that no one would dare to lie just for a mere servant, and after probing Ayaan's magic power, the guard knew Ayaan was only a Junior mage, too weak to be a threat.

Ayaan and Rebecca entered the city without a problem. He wasn't able to control anymore and asked, "Why didn't you tell me about the servant thing?"

Rebecca looked at him and asked with a teasing smile, "Tell me, if I had told you before, would you agree?"

"Hell, no!"

"See? It is the reason I didn't tell you." She said smilingly before walking away, Ayaan didn't have any option but to follow behind her, he didn't know where to go in this strange world.

"Where are we going? Where will we stay? And what are we going to do here?" Ayaan asked question after question, which Rebecca cleared with calmly.

"We will find an inn, and we will stay there, and what are we going to do here?.... We will talk about it later." Rebecca said before increasing her pace towards the inn. In between, she asked a woman about the inn.

The woman looked at both of them before pointing her finger straight and walked away without speaking a single sentence.

In just a few minutes, they arrived in front of the inn. A large board was hanging above, and on it was written, 'Couple Inn.'

'What the hell 'Couple Inn' means?' Ayaan wondered and looked at Rebecca with eyes full of uncertainty.

Rebecca felt his gaze at her and shrugged before replying, "I also don't know anything about this inn."

"Welcome, sir. Welcome, madam." A servant who was standing on the gate greeted them. Ayaan and Rebecca nodded at him before entering the inn.

A substantial bustling dining hall greeted them. Waiters and waitresses were serving the guests, but the weird thing about this place was that every table only had two people, a couple.

A suspicious expression appeared on the duo's face and walked towards the counter.

At the counter, was standing a beautiful middle-aged lady.  Behind her, the bottles of wines were decorating the wall, and every bottle was shining with unique colors.

"We want two separate rooms." Rebecca's voice wasn't loud, but everyone in the dining hall heard her and turned to look at her strangely.

"What a beauty!"

"Where this beauty came from?"

"Just one smile from her, and I will sacrifice five years of my life….."

Quite a few men praised her beauty when they saw how gorgeous Rebecca was, but when they sensed their partners' piercing gazes, all the noise disappeared from the dining hall.

The counter lady looked at Rebecca and then Ayaan before asking," Did you two fight each other?"

"Heh?" Ayaan and Rebecca looked at the counter lady in confusion.

"Aii… young people nowadays are too impulsive, they will fight on everything, and no one wants to understand others." The counter lady sighed and continued to murmur.

"Mam, can we have a separate room or not?" Rebecca asked impatiently.

"Childs, you shouldn't fight with each other on every mistake, you need to learn how to forgive your partner if he or she makes any mistake….."

"Partners!!? Who!!?"

Two loud voices resounded in the silent dining hall.
