NPC into Player: Let's Wreck This Game

Chapter 7: Fighting A Group of Level Two Monsters

Just as the two notifications fell on him out of nowhere, he felt a green, very refreshing light, wrapping around him. He had been leveled up, and all his injuries, exhaustion, loss of Hp and Stm were cleansed clean now.

Each level gained would have the same marvelous effects on the player. Bloom heard many stories about players being on verge of death, and then they leveled up to be saved.

Now as his Hp and Stm were fully restored, he didn't stand in his place for even a second. He moved fast, getting out of sight of these monsters, enough risking his life so far, that was what he felt inside him.

He was lucky once, but not that lucky though. Out of his inventory stock of potions, he consumed five Stm potions and six Hp potions in this fight alone.

He sighed, helplessly, as if it was up to him, he wouldn't attack this level five monster. Now he had one Sp point, which was enough to unlock one skill, and one Tp that could be used to raise up his current talent to the next level, or store it for unlocking next talents.

He thought about it, choices, that was what this game was based upon. He had to choose between unlocking the collecting skill, which he would get very useful materials from right now, or unlock the investigation skill, to save his as* from fighting another deadly monster like the one he just fought.

"Investigation skill is a life saving skill, I will choose it and leave the collecting skill for the next level then," he muttered to himself, deciding his future path.

"I choose to unlock the investigation skill," he said to the game system, which replied at once:

"System alert: investigation skill is unlocked."

"Investigation skill: active skill. lifestyle skill. used to investigate the basic info regarding anything. Cooldown: one second."

It was a useful skill, which he hurriedly used on level five monsters up ahead.

"Tiger monster: level five monster."

He didn't even have the Hp data of the monster, which was due to the low level of his skill. If he needed to learn more, he would need to upgrade the skill, but he didn't need to do it now. He was satisfied by just knowing the level of the monster for now.

As for the one Tp, he decided to keep it. although one handed sword talent wasn't useful for him now, he was considering other useful talents, one talent in particular, which would have created a big difference in the last fight.

"Fast draw talent: allows the player to unsheathe the sword as part of the attack. Increases Str by twenty five percent. It requires four Tp points to be learnt."

If he stored the Tp from now on, he would be able to learn this life saving talent in level four. After settling this matter, he then thought about the Fps he got from leveling up.

According to his faction, two points were already distributed, one to Str, and the other went to Vit. Now he had three points to consider.

"I would put two in Resilience, so I would gain twenty points Stm, and Speed will be boosted as well," he muttered, as he distributed the two points as he decided. Stm was a hard currency for his current low level, a stat that was pretty annoying to him right now.

As for the last point, he added it to Str, so he gained two more points in it, raising his Atp by ten points.

By finishing all that, he was ready to fight monsters again. This time, he left those level five tigers behind, and went up ahead where he saw small mammoths with some horns over their heads, and a strange shaped tail that was like the tail of a snake.

He immediately used his investigation skill on one of them, and the result was quite satisfying.

"Mammoth monster: Level two monster."

It was quite a satisfying monster to him. He first observed the attitude of these monsters, having big bodies and long agile tails made them lean towards pure strength with their bodies as their main weapons. He instantly pictured them using these horns to attack him, and that tail would cause quite a disturbance for him.

If his calculations were right, then these monster Hp would be no more than one hundred and fifty points. Considering his new Atp, and putting the level reduction problem in the equation, his attacks would range between thirty five and fifty points of damage.

That was enough to kill one monster in less than five attacks, which was quite enough for him to kill the monster without having any damage.

It was safe.

"Let's kill some mammoths," he muttered, encouraging himself as he went up ahead to the monsters. There were around ten monsters in this area, forming one small group, but he didn't consider this when he unsheathed his two swords, and attacked one monster at the rear.

"Stab."

"Stab."

"60"

"40"

It was pretty close to his expectations, and by these two attacks, the monster Hp fell by a big chunk in the Hp meter that showed above its large head.

"Nice," he cheered up himself, as he followed his attack with another stab. Just as his sword was about to land on the monster, he felt some wind coming from the side, so he hurriedly used the other sword with the skill:

"Ground breaker."

"-10"

"50"

He managed to stop the tail from causing much damage to him, but to his surprise, it wasn't the tail of the monster he was attacking, but it belonged to another monster, declaring its join to the fight.

"What the!! These are herd monsters!!"

He exclaimed out in surprise, before his other sword stabbed the monster, causing a critical hit.

"100"

This was enough for the monster to fall, losing its life, and a system prompt came telling him about killing the monster.

"System alert: player has killed level two monster. player has gained thirty Xp."

As he was now level one, fighting level two was considered a skip level kill for him, making him gain double Xp. He didn't have time to cheer on this, as the other nine monsters showed signs of attacking as well.

He had already engaged in a fight with one monster, and as he had used his movable skill, he let his body move with the sword, turning to face that monster, deciding not to retreat.

"Stab."

"Stab."

"Stab."

"Ground breaker."

"Stab."

"Stab."

"Slice."

"Stab."

"Stab."

"Ground breaker."

He had already created his own tempo, using stab skill as his base attack skill, his ground breaker to welcome an attack from the rear, shifting positions to face that new monster, and slice skill to escape any surrounding from the monsters.
