Please Stop Summoning Me!

Chapter 15: Legendary Investigator

The rising sun rays spilled through the cracked windows and fell on his face, accompanied by a faint rain sound. The thousands of silvery raindrops were the main tone of the day.

Shen Yi slowly opened his eyes, feeling refreshed.

Last night could be said to be a peaceful night for him as he slept well all night long and he hadn’t had any nightmares or heard those strange sounds.

“Although a lot of things have happened here, at least the security in this area is not bad, which is the only comforting thing.”

In the cafe, he always felt safe.

Getting up, he first brushed his teeth, washed his face, and after tidying up, he began his day’s preparations.

Switching on the coffee machine, water dispenser, and refrigerator lamps, wiping down the tables, chairs, bar countertops, and floors to ensure that there was no floating dust or dirt.

Checking the flower to see if any of them was withered and arranging it in the vase before placing them on the tabletop … After making sure everything was done, he opened the shop and changed the billboard from close to open.

Then he played soothing music on the track and sat behind the bar counter and waited for the guests to come. And as thought of something, he joined his hands together and sincerely prayed. “I hope I don’t run into any inexplicable people today.”

——

In the street outside the cafe, the light rain kept hitting the black umbrellas.

Under the umbrella was a middle-aged man in his early forties, with an indifferent expression on his face.

He was wearing a wide black trench coat, a lurid scar at the corner of his mouth, and an unkempt look with a slightly disheveled air.

From his lazy aura and looks, no one could imagine he was one of seven A-class investigators in Nolan.

The so-called A-class was the investigator who could handle “disaster-level crises” single-handedly. The strength was too powerful, as for normal people this level of grade was even impossible to obtain in a lifetime.

They were at the top of the range of human ability, but being human has its own limits.

In the Anti-Magic Bureau, the newcomers had nicknamed George “legendary investigator”, “legendary killer” and “Phoenix”.

But for George, all those gibberish titles had nothing to do with him. For him, he was a mere human being with one heart and one life.

A few days back, a case was assigned to him by a top-ranking official, it was a bit complicated. After gathering the relevant information, he was here to check out suspicious situations.

“Is this cafe?” George asked someone in his earphones.

“Yes, this is the one, Mr. George, but I have already investigated it carefully. This shop’s owner is a very innocent, clean individual with a clear background.”

The person who was replying through the headphones was a young man in his early twenties, at this moment he was sitting at the headquarters of the Anti-Magic Bureau, eating pizza.

He was called Ande, working as a logistician at the headquarters of the Anti-Magic Bureau.

While taking a bite, he continued on. “If you put aside his handsome appearance, he is just as ordinary as a next-door guy. But someone witnessed a little girl holding the strange object stayed here for a while.”

“In accordance with the operational practices of the Anti-Magic Bureau, you still need to investigate.”

George remained indifferent.

It was not the first time for the bureau to bring the useless case and blow up into a big thing and finally got a blackening face, he had long been accustomed to it for more than two decades.

“Well, I see.”

Since he rarely got some leisure time, let’s take this opportunity to grab a cup of coffee. he thought in his heart.

Once again Ande’s voice rang out.

“Speaking of which, Mr. George, why would they send special forces like you to the front line to collect information? I thought you would only be dispatched when facing real monsters.”

“Because this time the matter is very important.” George slowly responded.

In this case, the details were highly confidential, so those who were in the rank of Ande were unaware of any details, but George who know the inside information knew the huge risk that Nolan was facing now.

An Extraterrestrial god has descended!

The information was provided by a “prophet” in the Anti-Magic Bureau, who suddenly went crazy, struggling in bed, madly shouting that an Extraterrestrial god had descended on Nolan!

Since it was from a “prophet”, the Anti-Magic Bureau attached great importance to it. What could be worse than the arrival of an Extraterrestrial god?

After all, the worst outcome would be the annihilation of all mankind.

While the news was in full swing, soon after, they got a photo.

George pulled a blurred picture from his black trench coat pocket – a little girl holding something red in the stormy night, and the surroundings were illuminated.

This photo was taken by residents who couldn’t sleep in the middle of the night.

At that time, he saw a little girl walking past the window, and a ray of light illuminated her outline and there was no rain around her. So he secretly took this photo out of surprise, but the picture quality was terrible because of the distance and other reasons.

“What a pity, if the picture quality were clearer, I could see the faces in the photos clearly.”

George was curious about what she was holding in her hand.

But there was nothing that could be done about it.

As for why she stopped outside this cafe…

He put the photo inside his pocket and raised his head and looked at the cafe not far away, then started walking towards the cafe, while he thought, ‘rather than racking my brain to work hard, I might as well find some leisure time to take a break.’

Gradually he came in front of the cafe, closed his umbrella, and pushed open the door of the café.

“One latte.”

Raising his eyes, George saw the shop manager behind the bar.

At a glance, he knew the man in front of him was just a normal person who had not been exposed to the extraordinary world.

It was just that he was more handsome and elegant than normal people.

Well, this store should have nothing to investigate, another useless file, he thought quietly.

On the other hand, Shen Yi also sized up the new customer who came into the shop.

A middle-aged man in a wide black trench coat, slightly unkempt, like an uncle who was very motivated at a young age, and after a series of blows he gradually became lazy.

There was a scar at the corner of his mouth. It was very deep, which should have touched the bone.

Such people really need a cup of coffee to heal the wounds in their hearts. It would be much better to have them here rather than run for a drink.

With a professional smile, he nodded lightly.

“Wait for a moment, I’ll bring your coffee soon.”

George didn’t care too much. He took the retractable umbrella and sat on the seat not far away.

As the seat location was close to the window, one could easily check out what was happening outside at any time.

George’s gaze swept around the cafe. The wooden-based cafe was clean and tidy, with a warm base tone, giving people a warm and soft feeling.

He was highly inspired but did not perceive anything out of the ordinary. “Should be just an ordinary coffee shop?”

Shen Yi brewed the latte and brought it to the table.

“Here is your Latte, enjoy it slowly.”

George calmly raised a hand and said, “Wait, this gentleman, I have something I want to ask you.”

Shen Yi was taken back for a moment then waited for him to speak.

“Have you seen any strange people recently, or did anything strange happen?”

“I mean completely beyond the normal, unbelievable kind.”

Recently, strange things have happened, and he ran out of people asked this kind of question again and again, so Shen Yi subconsciously felt that something was wrong.

He smiled calmly.

“Strange people and things? The weather hasn’t been so good lately, and there are hardly any people in the café.”

While shaking his head, he complained. “If there’s something abnormal, it’s this damn weather, it’s always so bad.”

Shen Yi knew that Nolan people were always known for their love of talking about the weather.

He wasn’t sure where the other party was coming from, but the other party shouldn’t be sure of his true identity either.

In that case, it was better for him to not reveal anything about him.

George nodded, and a slight smile appeared on his expressionless face.

“I see, thank you very much.”

Is there really no useful information?

He picked up the latte on the table, and instead of drinking it right away, he blew it.

It was not that he was afraid of the heat of the coffee, but he did not want to expose himself in front of ordinary people. So he decided to blow it before drinking.

At the same time, Shen Yi secretly watched him from behind the bar and inexplicably relaxed a lot after seeing the man blowing on the coffee.

He still remembered Byron, who drank the coffee right away without fear of being burnt.

Maybe he was overthinking it, and this was just an ordinary customer?

Finally, the temperature of the coffee gradually subsided, and George began to drink the latte in his hand.

It tastes good.

The soothing music filled his ears, and George really rested for a while and felt his body and mind were completely relaxed.

His career as an investigator spanned more than two decades, during which he encountered countless horrific, bizarre, and incomprehensible things.

Only a few friends left from the past, and George finally understood the importance of daily life outside combat.

In order to protect this “life”, he must eliminate the possibility of Shen Yi knew that appearing in this world at all costs.

“Thank you.”

Finishing the coffee, he stood up and thanked him before leaving the cafe.

On a deserted Beland Street, George, who had left the café a few hundred meters away, suddenly stood still.

The Extraterrestrial god Aura.

The cold, hard, befuddled aura was like an unbreakable fog that enveloped him in layers.

His originally expressionless face was full of sweat, and his eyes were full of shock.

“The aura of Extraterrestrial god…Even so far away, I can still clearly feel it. It’s an unimaginably terrifying power!”

Taking a deep breath, he felt the source of this breath was from the coffee shop just now.

“Did I underestimate him?”

The other party swaggered and gave off a strong aura, that was, he invited himself over without fear. George was a little confused about what the cafe manager wanted to do.

Once again, he went back to the cafe, and his expression became more complex as he gazed at Shen Yi.

“Welcome, why are you back? Forgot something?”

Shen Yi looked up and smiled at him, and George noticed that his smile was calm and light as only someone who has experienced life and death could smile like this.

More than twenty years of rich experience told him that it was impossible to show such an expression if he had not experienced extraordinary things and lost someone important.

It turned out that he really misjudged him, this man was not simple at all.

Who is he?

No …… Is he really human?
