Chapter 24 Gallo Again

Yonka City!

Seated in his office was Rhizen, currently resting. Stationed before him was a large board, resembling a wall, spanning a length of five metres and a height of three metres. Plastered on it was the map of the world, the most detailed map available on the world scale.

Seated on his seat, Rhizen picked up a dart that he threw over casually, watching it strike dead centre on Yonka City, nodding in response as he threw over another dart, watching it land accurately on its target.

Both the darts firmly pierced through in their locations. With a smile, Rhizen began to throw darts one after another, with each hitting the location where a Tower of Purification had been kept in reality.

Even though it seemed like he was only playing around, his actions had a deeper meaning. After all, the strongest form of Luck that he had control over was Coincidental Luck.

Meaning, luck through a series of coincidences. It was a frightening power that was effective in almost all formats.

Even though he couldn't actively use Coincidental Luck, for the ripples of luck would be felt by the Grade 2 Systems hovering around his home world, he could still extend some basic applications for it.

Through the use of Coincidental Luck, he could keep a track of anything that happened in the safe zones scattered throughout the world. Hence, he repeated the same action once every four hours or at least once every six hours when he was busy.

As the darts lodged into the right locations one after another, Rhizen sighed, throwing the final dart, "Thankfully…"

Clang!

The dart failed to strike its target, falling to the ground as it created a sonorous noise, one that resounded in Rhizen's ears aloud.

Flinching in response, Rhizen stared at the location where the dart failed to hit, "Greire City…?"

He immediately shouted at the top of his lungs, causing the entire building to tremble in response, "YULNA!"

"Yesss!" Yulna hurriedly rushed into the room, almost leaping in response as she looked at Rhizen's foul expression, fearing that she had committed a mistake.

"Greire City has fallen!" Rhizen shouted, "Hurry and transmit the information. I want the nearby cities to dispatch troops to the location immediately."

"Y-Yes!" Yulna barely had any time to digest the details as she hurriedly took out her whistle before blowing into it, transmitting the contents to the other cities.

Those similar to her in the nearby cities were shocked by the information, hurriedly transmitting the contents to farther cities before informing their respective City Lords.

Rhizen then looked at the map, asking, "Who's the Stage 8 Mystic Human closest to Greire City?"

"Krager is 220 kilometres away while Neena is 620 kilometres away." Yulna flipped through their records and stated in a hurry.

Rhizen stared at the map, muttering, 'Neena's location is further inland while Krager's is close to a large lake.'

He gave his command, "Dispatch Neena to the location and command Krager to remain on standby. The other cities may be attacked next. So, keep constant communication with all cities. The moment transmission to any city fails, Krager will head there."

"Yes, Saint!" Yulna saluted before blowing into her whistle until her face became ashen, expending a lot of Nacre to continue the rapid transmissions.

Soon after, the communication department in their city took charge of the signal transmission, maintaining constant contact with all the cities.

Yulna was only in charge of relaying Rhizen's orders to the designated departments and relaying all information back to him. There were departments for every task established in their city and all cities for the matter.

The PADS riled up in response, hurrying as they began to prepare for war. In the meantime, the situation in Greire City was akin to the depths of hell.

"Stop…please…spare me!" An old man trembled in fear, dragging himself on the floor as his severed legs continued to bleed. His horn had been shattered, now losing its lustre.

His Origin Space had been destroyed by the corruption, rendering him helpless, staring in fear at the dozens of Aberrants that gradually crept up on him, snickering from time to time.

He was a Stage 4 Mystic Human, having put up a strong fight when the Tower of Purification was still functional. He killed droves of Aberrants, relying on his faster replenishment rate to cut them down like grass.

But once the Tower of Purification was destroyed, his Nacre was quickly expended as the number of Aberrants exiting the river water continued to increase.

Soon after, he suffered defeat, having his horn destroyed and his legs severed. The old man turned to his left, staring at a massive Whale that formed a deep impression on the ground, half-buried under rubble from the collapsed building, limp, unmoving.

His tears streamed from his eyes, for this Whale was his daughter-in-law. His son was one of the rare few Horned Humans of Greire City that managed to reach Stage 5 in the span of two years, displaying frightening potential.

And, he also fell in love with a Mystic Human, a Stage 6 powerhouse. But in the end, he lost his life while defending the Tower of Purification.

And now, the daughter-in-law lay immobile, severely injured, unable to move as she was approaching death.

"No! Stop! Please, don't kill her!" The old man screamed in despair upon watching a Titan Aberrant slowly approach the Whale, sporting an over-the-top grin.

"Something fun is about to happen. Stare and watch." Suddenly, a hissing voice resounded as the old man shuddered in fear. His body felt like it had been plunged into the depths of ice as he was unable to move.

And slowly, a serpent leaned over him, its mouth near his ear, its forked tongue dancing before his eyes. The faintest of corruption emanating from it caused his skin to rapidly rot in response as the old man trembled, losing strength rapidly.

In this time, the Titan Aberrant approached the Whale, grabbing hold of its tail as it pulled it out of the rubble rather roughly. A couple of iron beams had pierced through the Whale's body, tearing open a bigger gash as its body was dragged out.

The Whale twitched as its eyes blinked, dazed. On its forehead was a massive depression, apparent that it had suffered a strong blow to the region.

"No!" The old man felt alarmed upon staring at the Titan Aberrants gradually congregating around the region while standing at the forefront was the Humanoid Keras.

And hovering right next to him was the Serpentine Keras, staring with interest while its tail coiled around the rotting Tower of Purification, uprooting it before crushing it into pieces.

The pieces were divided between the two Keras that felt a mild increase in their power upon devouring them, grinning as they made eye contact, "If we devour ten more of these things, we too would become a Celas."

At this point, they were brimming in joy. Even though the both of them had received a severe thrashing from the Greire City Lord, they were the victors, in the end, having killed all lifeforms in Greire city.

And now, only two remained alive, the old man, and his daughter-in-law.

As the two Keras had something planned in store for them, the two were kept alive, for now.

Suddenly, upon hearing the old man's shouts, the eyes of the Whale gradually gained focus as they shot open, looking around at the wreckage and disaster, tearing up at the indiscriminate slaughter, "You fuckers! I'll kill you!"

"You'll die now. What are you harping about?" The Humanoid Keras snorted, "Besides, you're merely at Stage 6. There's nothing you can do to us when even your City Lord failed to kill us."

"Or, are you planning for the future?" Suddenly, the Humanoid Keras grinned in response, "When you revive, you'll grow stronger and return to take revenge, right?"

Upon seeing the Whale's eyes tremble in shock, the Humanoid Keras grinned, "You seem curious about how we came to know of this."

It grinned, stating, "It wasn't that hard to conclude, you know. After all, your world is infamous for birthing the Main Character and the crusade it had launched against the Main Character eighty years ago."

"But since your abilities aren't being reset, it's apparent that you've come to control your world's power." It stated, "The great Regression System has long since published details regarding your world and the modifications it had done to it. Deriving from there, we could arrive at the result, you know."

"Besides," It stated smugly, "Even though our spies were all killed by Rhizen, we managed to confirm our suspicions."

"And now, let's see if it's possible to prevent your revival."

"That's impossible!" The Whale roared, intending to get up when three Titan Aberrants held it down, gradually ripping apart its skin little by little.

"Wasn't there a precedent?" The Humanoid Keras grinned, tapping its chin before stating after a pause, muttering a single word, one that caused the Whale to despair.

"Gallo."
