Python Rebirth on Survival Island

Chapter 22

A Completed Upgrade and Absolute Control

On the island, deep inside the jungle…

After easily consuming five humans, Ye Bei saw that his Evolution Points tallied 75,000.

He was just shy of 25,000 points to complete the fourth stage of the Blood Python evolution.

But at this point in time, Ye Bei’s mind wasn’t on his evolution. Instead, his thoughts were entirely preoccupied with the System.

After the System completed its upgrade, one after another, new things started to unfold in front of his eyes.

Included among these new things was a detailed summary of his physical fitness attributes.

This time around, the information panel on the fluorescent screen that appeared in front of Ye Bei’s eyes included many more details. Information that had been vague in the beginning was now outlined in greater detail; for example, the classification of the fourth evolutionary stage of Level 1. In any case, Ye Bei now had a very thorough understanding of everything.

However, in addition to that, the System had also provided him with a diagram differentiating the Evolution Points each species yielded when eaten.

This was the most vital information…

This Evolution Points chart was presented in the form of a pyramid.

Nearly a hundred different kinds of creatures made up the bottom level. However, each of these creatures was worth no more than a single Evolution Point.

On the second level were roughly 80 various creatures, each of which would yield Ye Bei a maximum of 10 points.

The third level consisted of creatures that were worth up to 100 points.

The fourth level was made up of creatures worth 1,000 points and below, while the fifth level was comprised of creatures worth 2,000 points and below.

According to this chart, Ye Bei learned that there were as many as 21 different levels of classification. At the forefront of them were, impressively, the humans. Moreover, the points awarded for eating humans had been increased. While humans had previously yielded 5,000 Evolution Points, they were now worth 10,000 Evolution Points!!!

He’d gain the most points by devouring humans?

This was the unequivocal answer the diagram provided him with.

However, aside from that, he still had many questions because, unexpectedly, there was a huge question mark hanging at the top of this species pyramid.

His curiosity piqued, Ye Bei took the initiative to ask the System about the question mark. “System! What does this question mark mean?”

“According to our current knowledge of the creatures, humans are indeed at the top! However, in this world, there are some creatures that surpass humans. Naturally, if you consume these creatures, you’ll gain more points. Their species is still unknown… and you, as the Host, will need to discover them on your own! In addition, this Evolution Points Pyramid isn’t complete! There are also countless unknown creatures that aren’t of this world…” the System replied promptly.

What?

When he heard this, Ye Bei’s body stiffened.

There were also countless unknown creatures that weren’t of this world…

In the meantime, in this world, there were also certain species that surpassed humans?

These two pieces of information the System had just revealed were huge!!!

However, Ye Bei quickly buried these questions deep inside his mind.

“There are more than six billion humans in the world… At least for now, they’re all standing at the top! They’ll be my best source of Evolution Points!” Ye Bei’s tone was cold and unfeeling as he mumbled these thoughts to himself.

There was a cold glint in his eyes… As a Blood Python, he thoroughly recognized the gap between himself and the humans.

Without realizing it, he had already begun to treat humans as a food source for rapid evolution.

But at that moment, Ye Bei didn’t even notice this change in himself.

As Ye Bei reveled in his excitement, the voice of the System rang out again.

“System evolution complete!”

“The Host’s decision-making mechanism has been updated.”

“The ranking system of Evolution Points according to species has been updated. In the future, with the exception of the unknown species, when the Host sees a creature, no matter its kind, he’ll be able to determine what its level is immediately and how many points it’s worth.”

“‘Split System Control’ is useful when used with respect to the number of disciples. The System can enable the host to split his control into eight… Any creature can be the object of control. As long as the creature is from this earth, the Host can establish communication with it at any time and control its behavior through force.”

This was the improvement the System had gained after its automatic upgrade.

Three aspects of the improvement were completely awesome…especially that last one, which allowed him to control any creature so long as it was from this earth. From the looks of it, humans could very well fall under his control as well. Was there anything cooler than this?

However…

Even after hearing what the System had to say, Ye Bei didn’t really intend to control any humans.

There were more than six billion humans, and all of them stood at the precipice of the Evolution Points Pyramid. Ye Bei’s evolution depended on their existence since they were worth the most points…so it didn’t make much sense to control them.

“System, does controlling a creature stop at control alone? The Split System Control should also allow the controlled creature to undergo evolution. Am I right?” Ye Bei asked seriously.

“Yes. But in order to protect the Host’s absolute power, the Host can kill the creature under his control at will!”

The System was very thorough in its thought process.

“I see… Got it. First, enable control over Chun, Hua, Qiu, Yue, Xun, Huan, Zuo, and Le and then give them the power to evolve…” Ye Bei instructed decisively.

There were so many humans… It was impossible for him to go to war alone every single time.

Thinking of ways to expand the snake colony with the help of eight Blood Pythons that could evolve seemed like the most effective option.

“Right away, Host,” the System replied.

After the System said this, on the other side, in the shrubbery, the eight Blood Pythons that Ye Bei had named earlier felt a scorching hot breath coming out of their bodies. And while they were still coiled on the ground, their bodies started to grow at a speed visible to the naked eye!

All the other ordinary Blood Pythons surrounding them were stunned by this sudden change.

And Ye Bei hurriedly picked up Alec’s map and quickly returned to the snake colony…

However, Ye Bei didn’t expect that when he returned to the snake colony, he’d find a signal base located on a high rock at the edge of the island emitting radio wave after radio wave.
