Python Rebirth on Survival Island

Chapter 30

A Thoroughly-Enraged Ye Bei

Whirl whirl whirl!

The sound of the helicopter propellers was deafening… However, when the helicopters finally landed on the beach, the sound softened considerably…

…even though the propellers never stopped rotating.

“Hurry!”

“Bring all these people down!”

“The superiors gave orders that the body cameras need to be hidden well. Make sure you fasten them securely, so they don’t get lost!”

“Throw the food and essential survival resources together with them! We can’t let them die easily!”

The mercenaries in camouflage uniforms moved very quickly.

Voices kept coming from the walkie-talkies in their hands.

As for Ye Bei, when he reached the edge of the beach, he didn’t rush out immediately. Instead, he concealed his breath and coiled his huge body around a giant tree trunk. With his head raised high, he used his physical eyes instead of the power of the domain to judge the situation.

One person, two persons… 16 people!

Among them…

…were ten men…

…and six women!

In just five minutes, everyone was lifted down from the helicopters, along with a large amount of food and survival essentials.

Whirl whirl whirl…

When the deed was done, the four helicopters didn’t tarry, and instead flew off at the fastest speed possible!

“It’s really them…!”

Hiding in the dark, Ye Bei looked at the 16 unconscious individuals left on the beach, a myriad of complicated emotions flooding his heart.

To see them or not to see them?

That was indeed the question!!!

However, as Ye Bei internally struggled with himself, a person on the sand bed moved. It was Wang Dong! He was a fairly competent leader in Ye Bei’s previous company. He held a management position. He was over 1.85 meters tall, of stocky build, and had a fleshy face.

Ye Bei had originally intended to communicate with the humans, but when he saw Wang Dong move, he stopped in his tracks and decided to observe him quietly.

“Ouch! Where is this? Weren’t we vacationing on a cruise ship? What are we doing here?”

When Wang Dong opened his eyes, he was greeted with the sight of an unfamiliar island. There was food scattered all around him, and close by, there was a group of unconscious people. Seeing this, Wang Dong started to tremble, his eyes filling with fear and shock.

At that instant, Ye Bei wanted very much to make his way over…

But he eventually restrained himself from doing so, because he realized that a silver envelope had fallen out of Wang Dong’s pocket the moment he’d awakened.

“Huh?”

Ye Bei was curious about what was in the envelope. The next instant, he activated his territorial ability and, focusing hard, could clearly read what was written on the letter inside it.

But after he read it, a fury like never before rushed through him.

The content of the letter was very simple.

In a nutshell, what it said was this…

“When you open this letter and find that everyone around you is still unconscious, we would first like to congratulate you! You will have the first pick of the resources and tools left next to you. This is of vital importance to your quality of life in the upcoming days! Furthermore… All of you in this group were specially chosen! The 16 of you will play a survival game on this deserted island for one month. After a month, we will send helicopters to pick up the remaining survivors. Moreover, please bear this in mind—do you notice the small cameras on your chests? They’re for us to record what happens on the island and to help locate you. Do not, under any circumstances, lose them, or you will die! Alright, comrades! Good luck to all of you.”

This was roughly what the letter said.

The reason for Ye Bei’s anger was that his group of friends from his previous life had all been kidnapped and sent to this deserted island, and they were being forced to take part in a crazy game of survival…

The fact that Ye Bei was angry…

…meant that deep down, he still possessed some humanity!

“What should I do? Should I help them survive through the month and then send them off?”

“But obviously, it won’t be that simple!”

“I keep having this nagging feeling that something isn’t right.”

Ye Bei constantly darted his forked tongue out of his mouth as he mumbled these thoughts to himself… Rationally speaking, he wanted very much to help these old friends of his, but the racial differences between them and him were gradually causing him to lose his sense of logic.

However, as Ye Bei considered his options, a piercing sound suddenly wafted over.

“Ha ha ha ha…”

It was a loud guffaw, tainted with madness.

Ye Bei stiffened and turned around to look… The person who had erupted into laughter was none other than Wang Dong, who had just woken up moments before.

“What is he doing?”

Ye Bei was extremely surprised that Wang Dong could still laugh after being sent to a deserted island to take part in a horrific experiment.

However…

Just as Ye Bei was feeling puzzled, he heard Wang Dong’s voice again.

“Ha ha ha… this is great! Survival on a deserted island… Since I’m the first to wake up, all the resources here are now mine! These women like Li Yue and Dong Dong, who think they’re all high and mighty, are all going to be mine! For this whole month, they’ll be cultivated for my sexual pleasure. As for these men, he he he, they’ll do well as my dogs. In any case, they know the truth behind what really happened to that idiot Ye Bei. It’s best if I take care of everything at once! Ha ha ha… this opportunity really is a godsend.”

Wang Dong’s laughter sounded extremely maniacal, and it even carried a hint of hysteria.

However, when Ye Bei heard what Wang Dong said, his reaction was completely different.

Wang Dong… had been the person he had trusted the most in his past life. Had this man really yelled out his name and called him an idiot?

The truth behind what had happened?

These two key things caused Ye Bei to tremble violently.

Could it be… his accident in the helicopter hadn’t been a misfortunate accident?

Had it been a conspiracy from beginning to end?

Rustle rustle rustle…

While Ye Bei trembled, the giant tree he was coiled around shook along with him. The leaves in the foliage above shifted against one another, making a rustling noise.

“Who’s there?”

When he heard the sound of leaves rustling, Wang Dong suddenly stopped his cackling and stood on the alert.

He turned his gaze towards Ye Bei’s direction… and when he saw what was there, his eyes almost fell out of their sockets!!
