Chapter 2 2 - Qi World(2)

The door to the small, cramped room creaked open, and Ximen Wei stepped inside, his thin frame silhouetted against the dim light of the hallway. The room was cold and bare, with rough wooden walls and a dirt floor. It was no more than six meters square, and it was completely empty, save for a threadbare blanket that lay on the ground in one corner.

A gust of cold wind blew through the room, sneaking in through a crack in the ceiling and making Ximen Wei shiver. He couldn't help but smile, but it was a smile tinged with sadness. This kind of lifestyle was hard for him to get used to, especially after coming from Modern Earth, where he had slept on a comfortable bed with heat and light at his fingertips.

He missed the luxuries of his old life, but he knew that he had to make the best of what he had.

'How nice it would be if I can return home?'

On top of the threadbare blanket, there lay a thick, black book with striking red letters on the cover. The title, "World Encyclopedia," seemed to glow in the dim light of the candle that Ximen Wei had lit. This was the book that he had borrowed from Uncle Fang, and it promised to provide an elementary introduction to the world's geography, modern powerhouses, and various animal species.

Ximen Wei sat atop the blanket, his eyes fixed on the ceiling as he thought about the mysterious power of Qi. Could it really be true that by mastering this force, he could achieve the kind of strength and abilities that the Qi Experts possessed? And if he did, would he finally be able to return home to his own world?

A peculiar light flashed in Ximen Wei's eyes as he considered these questions. He knew that the path ahead would be difficult, And so, with a renewed sense of purpose, he opened the book and began to read, eager to learn as much as he could about the world and the power that flowed through it.

As Ximen Wei thought about his home, Earth, his eyes reddened and tears began to well up in his eyes. He knew that the only way he was going to be able to return home was by mastering the mysterious power of Qi.

"I have to," he whispered to himself, his voice choked with emotion. "That is my only way. I have family and friends waiting for me... She is waiting for me."

He thought of the people he had left behind, of the life he had once known, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness and longing. He missed his home, and the thought of never being able to return filled him with grief.

"Sigh," he sighed, wiping away his tears. "I always get emotional when I think of home."

But even as he felt the pain of homesickness, he knew that he couldn't let it hold him back. He had a mission to accomplish, and he was determined to see it through to the end, no matter how difficult the journey might be.

"This loneliness, I can't curb it," Ximen Wei muttered to himself, a sense of despair creeping into his voice. Despite the love and affection of his adoptive parents, he felt a deep sense of emptiness, a longing for the people and the life he had left behind.

"I'm spacing out again," he chided himself, shaking his head to clear his thoughts. "If I want to get out of this hellhole, I have to focus and work hard."

He knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but he was determined to overcome any obstacle that came his way.

After opening the book and reading through a few pages, Ximen Wei began to get a better understanding of the world he had been reborn into. This was a vast and expansive place, with five continents that were each twice the size of the Eurasian continent on Earth. The continent that Ximen Wei lived on was known as the Divine Star Continent, and it was a land rich in resources and teeming with human settlements.

As he read on, he learned that the Divine Star Continent was a place of great diversity, with a wide range of climates and landscapes, from verdant forests and rolling hills to towering mountain ranges and scorching deserts. It was a land of opportunity, where people of all walks of life came to seek their fortune and carve out a place for themselves in the world.

Ximen Wei was stunned to discover that in this world, humans were just one of many intelligent races coexisting alongside elves, goblins, dragonmen, orcs, and other fantastical beings. Each of these races had their own empires and lands, and the existence of such magic in this world made Ximen Wei wonder if it was all just a dream. But the harsh realities of the last eight years he had spent in this place had shown him that this was no dream, but a true and extraordinary opportunity for humans to surpass their limitations and attain supernatural powers beyond anything they could have ever imagined.

As he sat in the dimly lit room, Ximen Wei's mind was filled with thoughts of the future. As a poor village boy, he knew that he would never be able to afford the expensive lessons required to learn the mysterious energy known as "Qi," a power that was only available to the noble and privileged. Even his uncle, a former adventurer who had spent nearly three decades traveling the world, had never stumbled upon a way to learn it.

Frustrated by the limitations of his circumstances, Ximen Wei knew that he had to leave the village in search of a way to learn this power. He remembered that a caravan would be coming through the village next year, and he began to hatch a plan to sneak onboard and travel to a city where he might have a chance of finding a way to learn "Qi." He knew it was a risky move, as he could be caught and put in danger, or even if he managed to make it to a city, there was no guarantee that he would be able to find a way to learn this mysterious power. But he was desperate to return home, and he saw no other choice but to take this gamble. His eyes shone with determination as he began to make his preparations for the journey ahead.
