Spirit Ruin, Sword Coffin, Blind Swordsman

Chapter 21 Spiritual Consciousness

Li Guanqi had just opened his eyes and saw that both Lan He and the disciples in the hall were looking at him. Their expressions resembled those of someone looking at a monster.

He realized what had happened and decided to think about the situation.

He had just successfully circulated his Qi, breaking through to the first level of Qi Refinement. It wasn’t something he was overly surprised about. By the Qi cultivation mantra’s instructions, he soon entered a mysterious state. It felt as though he were placed between heaven and earth, surrounded by numerous colorful dots. Among these dots, only the purple ones were drawn into his body.

Currently, he felt a pleasant sensation all over, except for the stickiness on his body that he found a little uncomfortable. Moreover, this substance emitted an incredibly foul stench.

Lan He laughed and said, “These are impurities in our bodies. In the practice of cultivating immortality, these impurities gradually get eliminated from the body.”

“Go ahead and freshen up. The others will go ahead and take a look at the Body Refining techniques and Qi cultivation mantra.”

“If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.”

Li Guanqi had initially considered staying until after class ended, but the odor on his body made it somewhat unbearable.

He apologized to Lan He and quickly headed to Heavenly Thunder Peak.

As he reached the foot of Heavenly Thunder Peak, he saw an elderly man meditating.

The old man immediately opened his eyes upon sensing his presence. Li Nanting looked at Li Guanqi in astonishment and asked, “You’ve broken through to the Qi Refinement stage?”

“Weren’t you just in class? How did this breakthrough happen?”

Li Guanqi scratched his head and said awkwardly, “I broke through during class, and, well… I ended up in a sorry state.”

Hearing this, Li Nanting couldn’t help but laugh heartily and said, “Haha, I was right to accept you as my disciple. I’m sure this won’t be the only surprise you’ll be giving me.”

“In the history of the Great Xia Sword Sect, no one has ever broken through in their first class.”

“Come, I’ll take you back.”

Li Nanting grabbed the young man and flew through the air.

Along the way, they also encountered many Heavenly Thunder Peak disciples practicing. They were all slightly stunned upon seeing Li Guanqi covered in gunk.

Gu Ran put down her sword and nudged the tall figure beside her with an elbow, whispering.

“Am I mistaken? Wasn’t Junior Brother just attending class at Heavenly Water Peak today?”

“How did… he break through???”

The tall figure was also a little dazed and whispered, “Junior Brother’s talent seems a bit too extraordinary, doesn’t it? According to reason, shouldn’t the first class be about Elder Lan explaining some basic knowledge about entering the sect?”

Not long after, news of Li Guanqi’s direct breakthrough to the first level of Qi Refinement during his first class spread like wildfire.

From a moment, the title of genius was no longer enough to describe Li Guanqi. This was the true appearance of a monstrous talent!!

Meanwhile, other newly admitted disciples were still struggling to reach the Body Refinement realm and lift a hundred pounds of stone with one hand.

Li Guanqi took a bath immediately upon returning to his home, feeling refreshed. He had changed the bathwater three times, and his skin was red from scrubbing, but he finally felt much better.

As Li Guanqi walked out of the room, he noticed that his master hadn’t left, and there were several jade vials and spirit stones on the table. A trace of pride appeared in Li Nanting’s eyes as he gestured for Li Guanqi to sit beside him. Li Guanqi didn’t hesitate and walked over to sit next to the old man.

The elder gazed at the young man with a pleased expression, then spoke softly, “Has Lan He already discussed Spirit Ruins and Destiny with you?”

Seeing the young man nod, the elder looked up at the sky and said softly, “The matter of Spirit Ruins is predetermined from birth, whether it exists or not doesn’t affect your path of cultivation.”

“Now that you have stepped into the immortal path, let me tell you about your future cultivation.”

Li Guanqi’s expression turned serious, and he involuntarily straightened his posture.

“The Qi Refinement stage is divided into ten levels: the first levels refine the internal organs, the middle levels refine the meridians, and the last levels refine the spirit.”

“The purpose is to allow your body to better adapt to spiritual energy and to accommodate the budding spiritual consciousness.”

“Do you feel some swelling in your spiritual sea?”

Li Guanqi nodded. After breaking through at Heavenly Water Peak, he had sensed something in the spiritual sea at the center of his brows.

The elder chuckled softly, “No need to worry, that’s the manifestation of your nascent consciousness, similar to a dantian.”

“At this stage, your dantian is as fragile as a newborn baby, so when you practice, you must concentrate without any distractions.”

Li Guanqi nodded solemnly, evidently recording this in his mind.

“When you reach the ninth level of Qi cultivation, you can attempt to break through to the Foundation Establishment stage.”

“But with your talent, it’s better to cultivate to the perfect tenth level of Qi cultivation before considering breaking through to the Foundation Establishment. With your talent and the assistance of Foundation Establishment pills, I, as your master, am not worried about your breakthrough.”

The elder continued, “You now have five hundred sect merit points. You can go to the library of the Heavenly Sword Peak and find a technique suitable for you.”

Saying that, the elder handed over a cloth bag.

“What’s the use of this bag?” Li Guanqi asked curiously. “It’s so small, it possibly can’t fit much.”

“Hahaha, why don’t you try using your spiritual consciousness to touch it?”

“Concentrate your mind and imagine that your spiritual consciousness is like a silver thread.”

Li Guanqi no longer used his mind’s eye and immediately sensed the presence of the spiritual consciousness in his spiritual sea. That mist-like spiritual consciousness wasn’t much, just like a large water tank with only a splash water at the bottom. Then, he concentrated his mind and willed his spiritual consciousness to move, shocking himself with the results!

He found that this spiritual consciousness was like an additional pair of eyes, allowing him to vividly see everything in the outside world!

“It’s not black and white…”

Li Guanqi’s eyes suddenly became a bit moist, and two streams of tears flowed uncontrollably. With trembling lips, he choked out, “I… I can see colors!!”

The elder patted his back gently, and the young man reined in his emotions.

Touching the bag with his spiritual consciousness, he found that there was a space inside as large as ten meters!

The elder chuckled softly, “Try using this bag of holding to collect the things on the table.”

Swish!

Li Guanqi’s thoughts moved, and the things on the table were all sucked in. Li Guanqi grinned and happily put away the bag.

Then the elder told Li Guanqi many things about the cultivation world. Everything was fascinating and eye-opening for Li Guanqi.

For instance, there are really ghosts in this world! Ghosts that lacked three souls and seven spirits, and ghosts who don’t reincarnate due to various reasons. There are also many flowers, plants, and crystals in the world, which, after gaining wisdom, can cultivate and become spiritual beings. It seemed like everyone was pursuing immortality. And creatures like flower and plant spirits were pursuing cultivation to transform into human form.

Li Guanqi didn’t know yet that not long from now, he would witness all these things mentioned by his master firsthand.

On this day, an elder and a young man sat in the courtyard and talked for a long time.

The elder patiently explained to Li Guanqi the possible problems he might encounter in his cultivation. And he told him that he should practice his morning exercises twice a day, without neglecting it due to cultivation.

Li Nanting had pondered for a long time after studying Li Guanqi’s movements, and realized that his exercise routine was more than just a simple set of martial arts techniques!

Each move contained myriad variations, and it was beneficial in refining the cultivator’s physical body.

He even pondered about whether he should seek the young man’s permission and let all the disciples of Heavenly Thunder Peak practice his movements!
