The Charming Villain Just Wants To Be A Salted Fish

Chapter 1.2 - The First Night Part 2

The First Night Part 2

“What?!”

Before the knight spoke, the vampire behind Joyce whispered, “Your Highness Joyce, you can't let Princess Isabella go! She is the Demon Dragon’s bride, and we can only use her to exchange for the Primogenitor!”

“…” Joyce knew that this so-called Primogenitor was the supreme belief of these obviously low level IQ vampires, and she did not feel like bothering with him to figure out the Primogenitor’s level in the past. She turned to him and explained, “The princess has not been married yet and she was asked to leave by such a large group of vampires. How do you know the Great Demon Dragon will still want her?”

“…”

Several vampires beside her froze simultaneously, and even the princess in her arms stopped crying and became stiff in place.

“But this knight of Karnia is a minion of the Great Demon Dragon to maintain his rule. If we only kidnap the knight, then the Demon Dragon will trade the Primogenitor for him to stabilize his rule!”

“…Really?” The vampire standing next to Joyce froze.

Joyce looked at the otome manga’s villains whose IQ obviously did not reach the minimum normal level and patted him on the shoulder. “Trust me.”

She stopped talking and looked at the handsome knight in front of everyone’s struggling eyes again, patting the princess on the shoulder. “Give the declaration of war to the princess and let her travel to the palace and give it to the Demon Dragon. If he wants to save his knight, he will need to make an exchange with us for the Primogenitor!”

“Yes!” The vampires were invigorated and responded with high morale.

Even though the vampire who had always followed Joyce had doubts in his eyes, he thought about it and tied up the knight because of her words. He gave the declaration that was meant for the knight to the princess.

“Take it to the King of Karnia and tell him that if he still wants his knight's life, he will need to exchange him for the Primogenitor."

The panicked Princess Isabella looked at the knight who accompanied her this entire time. Although the knight was always silent, he would place himself in front of her during any danger.

“I-I will come back and save you.”

“Yes.” The knight’s dull eyes glanced at her and responded without thinking.

Princess Isabella cautiously looked at the vampires eyeing her like she was prey. She clenched the declaration and retreated step by step. Eventually, she turned and quickly ran out into the forest after making sure that she was really let go.

It was not until Isabella's figure disappeared among forest’s shadows that Joyce turned her eyes back to the knight who was tightly tied to the wrists by the vampires.

The knight was also glancing at her subtly, with a cold appearance that contained antagonism from thousands of miles away. This chilly and stoic look was Joyce’s type.

Joyce approached him. She became fixated on the knight's exquisite features, and became more and more satisfied.

This kind of face can bring calamity to a country. It’s simply such a waste that he’s not the male lead. With this in mind, she lifted his chin in a delighted mood.

“Let’s go home with sister. Sister will take good care of you.”

The knight raised his chin slightly with her movements and did not respond to her words.

Joyce was in a good mood and looked at the man in front of her.

“What is your name?”

“Your Majesty Joyce, it's time for us to go back.” The vampire who was always behind Joyce had walked up to the carriage. He opened the door and respectfully motioned to Joyce to get in.

Joyce responded, and rushed to drag the knight into the carriage.

Before getting on the carriage, Joyce shot a questioning glance at the man next to the carriage.

“I said…” Joyce frowned. “What is your name?”

“Nicholas.” The vampire next to them raised his head proudly. “Nicholas Long Aotian 1.”

“…” Did this manga author randomly name the characters?

The author of this manga gave a name to the villain so casually that Joyce had to really try to hold back her laugh. She boarded the carriage after the knight.

“Your Highness Joyce, should these corpses still be the same as before?” Long Aotian respectfully asked.

Joyce was stumped when she heard him. She didn't know what “before” was. Long Aotian's expression was calm, and she nodded without thinking about what he was going to do.

He received her orders and closed the carriage door at the same time. The vampires on the side abruptly rushed to the corpse. For a moment, the thick bloody air hit her senses.

Joyce realized at this moment what Long Aotian meant by “the same as before”.

But she didn't have time to stop it.

She caught a glimpse of the knight with a dark face sitting beside her and hastily locked the carriage’s door.

The corpses were soon "cleaned", but the smell floating in the air left Joyce in a trance. The carriage slowly moved forward. In the thick bloody air, the smell that occasionally drifted by had a faint sweetness.

Her eyes fell again on his neck again and she unknowingly swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

This man’s blood… is really sweet.

Joyce wanted to say something to try to distract herself. “Do you think… your king will come to save you?”

The knight turned to look at her, and his attractive eyebrows slightly scrunched up. It was as if he did not want to answer such a question.

“It seems like he won't,” Joyce nodded thoughtfully as she spoke to herself. “Don't worry, if he doesn't come to save you, then you can stay peacefully. We are good, too….”

Before Joyce finished her words, she shut up under the knight’s frosty eyes.

But after she stopped talking, the blood flowing under his thin skin appeared clearer before her.

She was unaware of how she was looking for the sweetness and approached him a bit.

It was like the knight was aware of her approach, so he turned his head and there was a guarded opposition in his cold eyes.

“What's your name?” Joyce's eyes continued to look at his neck and asked in a hoarse voice.

The knight's eyes also stared at her.

Joyce moved a bit closer to him as if she was fascinated. Just when she thought the knight would not answer her question, she heard the knight’s frosty voice—

“Sean.”

“Oh, Sean.” Joyce swallowed again. “That's a good name.”

She did not know why, but there was something in Sean's blood that she was a bit attracted to. His blood was different from other people’s. It was sweeter and more seductive than any delicacy she had ever sensed.

The tip of her nose pressed against his neck, sniffing the intoxicating sweetness.

She was lost in such an addictive sweetness. She opened her mouth and bit him on the neck…

The author has something to say:

Here comes the couple pairing for Sean that I promised~

Sean is the male supporting character in “Cassinio’s Mysterious Gift”, that why~

tarararawr’s rararamblings: I don’t think you have to read “Cassinio’s Gift” to read this novel, but characters from “Cassinio’s Gift” will appear. Here is the link to that novel if you are interested in it.

  1. Long Aotian is a Chinese meme name for the most dominating character
