The Charming Villain Just Wants To Be A Salted Fish

Chapter 16.2 - The Sixteenth Night Part 2

The Sixteenth Night Part 2

In the following days, the vampires methodically followed the orders to farm. Joyce followed Long Aotian to supervise the work. Whenever she could not see Sean, she gave the work to Long Aotian so that she could happily go find the little knight.

Sean seemed to have been avoiding her off late.

However, Joyce was not discouraged. She followed him every day in a good mood like she was playing hide-and-seek.

“Little knight, walk slower.”

“…”

“Little knight, why do you blush when you see me?”

“…”

“Oh? Little knight, where are you going?”

“…” Sean finally couldn’t stand it and stopped walking. “Do you have nothing to do?”

“Of course not.” Seeing that he finally spoke, Joyce hurried up to him and said, “I’m doing the most important thing in my life right now.”

“…”

“Oh, wait for me.” Joyce saw that he had quickened his pace again, so she ran after him giggling.

Sean saw her catching up to him. When she eventually reached his side, he threw the farm tools at her. “Since you have nothing to do, you might as well go to work with your subordinates.”

Joyce happily looked at the farm tools in her hand, and then caught up with him again. “Are there any rewards? Like a little knight as an award?”

“…”

Joyce’s voice was not soft. It drew the low laughter of the vampires who overheard them. Sean’s stern face flushed again, and he automatically reached out with his hand to cover her smiling lips.

Joyce, whose lips were covered by him, was stunned. Then, they were filled with a smile again.

“Little knight, you are shy again.”

Her moving thin lips on his finger as she spoke was like a soft kitten tickling his hand, but it was also tickling the tip of his heart.

Sean withdrew his hand.

Someone in the field nearby called her name, and Joyce didn’t stay much longer. She waved to Sean and quickly ran to the vampires who seemed to have found inner peace in farming.

Sean looked at her cheerful figure from a distance. He stood in the corridor for a long time, and it was not until he collected his thoughts that he withdrew his gaze that had always been on her and walked into the castle without saying a word.

By the time the sun was high in the skies, most of the vampires had returned to the castle. Meanwhile, Joyce continued to be busy in the fields.

Long Aotian listened to his subordinates’ reports on the farming progress, while he watched Sean stand in front of the window.

He cleared his throat, and the vampire beside him who was reporting his work immediately fell silent.

“It’s getting late. I’ve got more work to do. Knight, go and get Her Highness back.”

Sean was surprised when he heard that. He turned and looked at Long Aotian in the eye, then at the busy figure in the fields.

Joyce was working in the field when she heard footsteps behind. She turned her head and cried out in surprise, “Little knight, there you are!”

“Yeah,” Sean answered flatly, “I’m going back.”

Joyce rushed to stop him and ecstatically presented to him as she said, “Look, this is a watermelon seed. When summer comes, you can eat sweet and cold watermelon!”

“Okay.”

Joyce looked at his unchanged expression and asked with high expectations, “Will you like it?”

“…Mhm.”

“Then…” Her expression suddenly became coy. “What about the watermelon grower?”

“…”

“Hey, don’t refuse to answer.” Joyce smiled and took his arm. “You kissed me.”

“…” Sean had a headache. “The entire castle knows about it now.”

Joyce’s eyes curved as she looked at him. “So you’re still shy?”

“No.”

“I kissed you, too.” Joyce patted him on the shoulder. “So we’re even, and I’ll be responsible for you. Don’t worry.”

“…” Sean didn’t know how to respond. “No need.”

“Don’t fight it, little knight.” Joyce smiled and got closer. “You like me, don’t you?”

Sean did not answer, simply turned, and walked in the direction of the castle.

Joyce swiftly ran after him, and she turned to him once she was by his side. She peeked at his expression as she spoke, “Little knight, you’ve been avoiding me for so long. It’s not because you’re shy, right? Why are you avoiding me?”

Sean still didn’t answer.

“Is it something I did badly?” Joyce asked and gently tugged at the corner of his shirt. “Little knight, I like you, and I said I would be responsible.”

It was clear that her strength was not enough to make him waver as he walked, but he stopped and looked at the vampire.

“You like me?”

Joyce blushed from the way he asked the question.

She quietly looked at Sean’s stoic expression and nodded awkwardly and carefully.

Sean raised his hand. He put his long, white fingertip to his thin lips, and bit it. It was a move that stunned Joyce, her breathing stopped.

A drop of blood seeped down Sean’s fingertips. It stained his lips, and Joyce’s eyes had a tinge of scarlet.

She approached him in a daze and gently stood on her tiptoes to kiss his lips like a man bound by a curse.

Her tongue brushed his lip. The sweet, deep, red liquid flowed into her lips. Her vampire thirst for blood came rushing at this moment. Her arms gently wrapped around his neck, and her farmer hat got knocked off the top of her head. She collided with his lips like the kiss, like the thirst.

His lips had a softness that was different, and the blood on his lips was like the best fine wine.

Joyce’s eyes became more and more hazy, but then she heard Sean’s low voice—

“So what you like is my blood.”
