The Complete Guide to Rearing an Alien Boyfriend

Chapter 12

Chapter 12 Burning the Heart
It turned out that the light was emitted from Yan Wangchuan’s mobile phone. He probably used the flashlight function on his phone.

Through the faint flashlight, Long Xi finally realized that they were in the school’s girls’ dormitory.

However, she could not tell which dormitory it was, since they all looked the same.

Yan Wangchuan looked up at Long Xi and a mixture of emotions flashed across his tearful eyes—fear, gratitude, shame, and some dark and unknown emotion that Long Xi could not understand.

Then, he used all his energy to support himself up and ran towards her like a drowning man reaching out for a lifebuoy.

He was much taller than Long Xi but at that instant, he resembled an extremely fragile crystal doll. His transparent heart was made of glass and could be seen through.

Long Xi heaved a long sigh in her heart. Yan Wangchuan had really changed a lot! Did people grow up and become unrecognizable? If that was the case, she did not want to grow up!

In her impression, Yan Wangchuan had always those that were easily bullied, but he was not as weak and timid as he was currently.

In the past, he was very caring. Even when he was being bullied, he would not do anything to hurt others. Many girls liked him and even if he did not feel the same way for them, he would turn them down gently and not play along.

Long Xi remembered vividly that little Yan Wangchuan was cold on the outside and warm on the inside. Although he did not talk much, he was always willing to help others in need.

However, his heart was now as hard as a rock. He was the Physics Representative because of his good Physics results. Once, a classmate asked him a Physics question but yet he treated the classmate like thin air and completely ignored him.

He must have gone through a lot of pain to end up like this?

Long Xi’s heart was slightly in pain.

She decided to forgive Yan Wangchuan and help him overcome this obstacle. In the past, she would always come to save his day when the older kids bullied him. This time, it was no different!

She calmed down and studied their environment carefully.

The window was tightly shut and it was pitch-dark inside and out. There were iron rods on the window, which made it impossible for one to climb out from the window.

The alarm clock on the desk indicated that it was twelve o’clock.

The door of the dormitory was also shut tightly and could not be pushed open. It was most likely locked from the outside.

Suddenly, they could hear the sounds of dripping water. It was all the more audible at midnight.

Bloop… bloop… bloop… the sound was soft and clear, and it began to get louder…

Frightened, Yan Wangchuan grabbed onto her arms tightly and hid behind her.

Long Xi could not help but complain in her heart, “Aren’t you supposed to be a male god? Brother Wangchuan, is it really okay for you to forget about your character and reveal your true self?”

Long Xi wrapped her jacket tightly around her body. It was now deep autumn, but yet she felt like she was in the coldest month of winter.

The water dripping sound seemed to have come from the bathroom in the dormitory.

The door to the bathroom was locked.

Long Xi walked over stealthily.

The closer she got to the bathroom, the clearer the sound became.

“Long Xi…” Suddenly, a frail voice came from behind, causing her heart to almost jump out.

She dared not move. After a brief moment, Yan Wangchuan said, “Long Xi, let’s not go in there, it might not be clean.”

She heaved a sigh of relief and scolded, “Don’t talk out of nowhere! Are you trying to scare me to death?”

Yan Wangchuan’s breathing sound grew heavy. His voice was filled with pain as he said, “Long Xi, I’m sorry!”

Long Xi understood what he meant. He was apologizing for making fun of her with Man Shahua.

She said briefly, “Forget it. I’ve forgiven you.”

Yan Wangchuan’s hands started trembling even more. He whispered, “Look below.”

Long Xi looked down and saw a stream of black blood flowing through below the bathroom door.

“Boom!” The door sprung open all of a sudden.

A girl wearing a red dress was being hung above the toilet bowl. The rope was wrapped around her neck tightly, almost causing it to break.

The hanging body was like a marionette. It kept on swaying back and forth.

Her pupils were enlarged and protruding as if they were going to pop out. They were dripping black blood.

The black blood dripped from her body and landed into the toilet bowl. That was the source of the sound they heard just now.

Her black eyes began rolling and stared at the two of them fiercely. It was full of resent and hatred.

“Ah…!” Yan Wangchuan let out an ear-piercing scream. His face became pale and his legs became wobbly. Long Xi dragged him and moved backward a few steps till they reached the dormitory door.

They used all their energy to push but it was to no avail. They started throwing themselves at the door but it was also a useless attempt.

Yan Wangchuan let out a miserable scream. It was so loud, perhaps the whole building was able to hear it.

Long Xi plunged herself against the door and kept on hitting it while shouting in tears, “Help, help!”

The other side of the door was dead silent. Even the sound of wind seemed to have stopped.

No matter how hard they knocked, the door would not open and no one was coming to save them!

While they were panicking, Yan Wangchuan’s mobile phone fell and rolled on the floor.

Yan Wangchuan tugged onto Long Xi’s shirt and stuttered in fear, “What, what do we do? Long Xi, we are stuck here. Are we going to die? Huh… I don’t want to die yet.”

Long Xi forced herself to remain calm and comforted him. “It’s okay, it’s okay… it must be an illusion! Ghosts don’t even exist! Try and smell, the body has already rotted and the blood has turned black, but there is no smell at all. This is definitely an illusion!”

Their backs suddenly turned chilly and a frail female voice spoke, “Pst… you guys can’t get out of here.” The voice was cold with no warmth, and it sent chills down their spines.

Long Xi leaned against the door and turned around. The flashlight from the phone was coincidentally shining onto the face of the female ghost floating out of the bathroom.

Black blood fell along her cheeks and onto the floor. Her neck was covered in layers of dark bruises from the hanging. Her head fell on one side as it was almost completely broken. The right side of her mouth seemed to have been cut open by something and sewn using red thread. She looked like she had received inhuman torture before dying.

Long Xi felt that her facial features looked familiar and felt like she had seen her photos before.

Long Xi tried to recall but could not remember anything.

Yan Wangchuan hid behind her and said in a trembling voice, “She, she is Xu Xian’er. She is the most popular Second Year in our school. She committed suicide last month in her dorm.”

“Oh, yes.” Long Xi finally recalled and realized it was indeed Xu Xian’er. She saw the pictures of Xu Xian’er winning a dance competition on the school’s forum.

Xu Xian’er committed suicide last month and it had caused a huge sensation in the city.

She heard from Xu Xian’er’s roommate that she had left her will on her desk. She wrote that she was being tortured by three boys. However, when two policemen arrived at the scene, the will went missing. Xu Xian’er’s father was Mr. Xu, Long Xi’s Physics teacher. Her mother also flew back from overseas with a whole bunch of relatives to cause a scene at the school. In the end, they had to give up because there was simply no hard evidence.
