The First King of Beasts

Chapter 6 Banter Day

"This is surreal! This thing, this.. 'You are the beginning, you are the end' isn't this something only said about gods?"

"+50 to all stats! Fucking Hell! What the actual shit!" "He-heheheh. Am I not the strongest at this appoint?!"

"But this one here, the first to awaken in my universe? Doesn't that mean there might be more than one universe?"

*Beep *Beep *Beep

"..." Speechless. Dustin was totally speechless.

All this while, he thought he was cursed. Who knew his anomaly would be the thing that changes his life forever?

'This is beyond crazy.'

Dustin was getting a bit overwhelmed by all that was happening. Everything was happening so fast, it was simply unbelievable. He was overwhelmed with feelings of happiness and anxiety. It wasn't at what he had obtained, rather it was about the responsibility that had been placed on him. Imagine him, someone who is a bottom feeder, suddenly receiving the title that basically puts him in the position of a leader, in the universe. It was simply too magnanimous.

"Hey bro. Are you still sleeping? It's almost 11:00. How tired are you?" Sil's voice came from the sitting room as he walked over.

Dustin quickly stood up, calming himself and trying to look as normal as possible. The last thing he would want to do was give Sil a cause to worry. After all, it was bad for his health.

"Hey, I'm awake already. I coming over now." Dustin said, as he rushed out of the room.

As he slid into the sitting room, the look on Sil's face stopped him in his tracks.

"Hey you, what's that face for? Why do you look like you just sniffed shit?"

"You dare ask me that dirty question? What kind of world is this? The sick work while the healthy sleep. Too terrible, too terrible." Sil exclaimed from his seat.

Hearing this, Dustin's mouth couldn't help but twitch in the corner. His own expression also spoiled and his face resembled an old man's face.

"You ungrateful dog. Haven't I always made sure to always remain the soup for you to drink after I eat the meat? Why are you complaining now? Don't make me hang your waist to the ceiling."

"Eh? What ceiling? This place is small, but even the heavens know you won't reach the ceiling even after standing on the chair. Shoot for what you can reach. Maybe that's why we haven't progressed yet in life." "You haven't started crawling, but you want to land on Mars."

"This Halfling. If I still can't crawl, I just use a rocket. Babies have been to the airports and even boarded planes. How many times have you gone outside?"

"Haaa?!"

They went at it for a while until they got tired, and Dustin walked to the couch and sat down. Just then, he heard another thing.

"What does Dustin even mean? Who gave you that name?"

'This bitch.' "Do you really want to go there?"

"I'm just pointing out while you always eat dust. You literally have dust in your name."

"And what does Sil mean?"

"Hehehheh."

'Why's he laughing like that?'

"I did a lot of research last time we brought up this topic, so that I would be able to counter you today. Sil... means Silver. It represents elegance." Sil bragged, with a smirk on his face.

'Heheheh.'

As Dustin laughed in his mind, the suspicious and threatening grin on his face could not be wiped off in a hundred years.

'This, I know this face...' Before Sil could complete his thought.

"Aren't girls the ones that bare Silver? Hmm? Little Sil, have you become a sissy? Men aren't visiting when I'm gone, are they?"

"Shameless! That's a low blow, ah!"

They continued bickering at each other for a while more until they tired themselves. With all the talking, Dustin was feeling even hungrier than when he woke up, you he joined Sil for breakfast.

The endless banter was common. It happened every time, but when it did, they would be no holding back. This time, the winner was Dustin, like always.

"What do you think about this thing? I mean that voice thing that happened?" Dustin asked Sil in a casual tone. He was being serious with the question, but he didn't want Sil to suspect anything. After all, they had been leaving together since birth, so Sil would notice changes fast.

"I don't know what to think of it honestly. If this thing does happen, all I know is it will be disastrous."

Both of them weren't stupid. They knew that if such a thing were to happen, the entire world might enter a state of chaos, and many governments would fall. Just how ordinary people were to survive was what they were looking at. It would simply be a disaster.

They continued talking for a while as they ate their breakfast, and just then, the news came on. It was talking about how various governments were doing their best to stabilize their countries and protect the citizens. As the news was reporting, the brothers also discussed on how the government of their country was likely to react.

"We need supplies. If it's this selfish president and our governors, we might as well forget about protection. But there's a problem." Dustin said, as he turned around and scanned the apartment.

"We have nothing."

They both looked at the empty apartment that resembled nothing like an apartment that was about to experience apocalypse. As they thought of solutions, Dustin brought up an idea.

"I was going to go out for a bit. Since money is almost useless right now, no one will sell anything consumable, we might as well go find something for ourselves."

"But how are you going to do that? You can't exactly go burgling, you know. I don't think we should be going the route of theft."

"Heheh." 'Yeahh, right. Not really befitting of the title progenitor, is it?'

"Ah! Heheh. But what if I don't steal?" Dustin said, as a familiar creepy smile stuck to his face.

'This face again...' "What are you thinking? What crazy thing are you plotting now?"

"I'll go visit Old cub and ask him to borrow me some supplies. He likes money so much that he could sell his mother's soul to get it, it's also the reason why he remained at this level. I bet He'll agree."

"I see. That way, we'll be able to have something at least, no matter how small." Sil added.

"Exactly."

"But you are going to get beat up, naturally. One way or the other."

"Normally." 'I'm a disgrace as an elder brother, sob sob. He even expects me to be beaten up. No honour amongst brothers!'

"I'll go take my bath and head out."

"Sure."

"Oh yeah, Sil!" Dustin called out just before he left the sitting room.

"What!?"

"Mmm, never mind." He was going to tell him about the system and everything concerning it, but he decided to leave it for the moment. Besides, he still didn't know whether his brother having the knowledge about it would put him in danger or not.

'I'll leave that for now. Let's focus on what's important.'
