The Magician Kunon Sees Everything

Chapter 10: Father's Call (1)

“Master Kunon, the master wants to see you.”

One day at the dinner table, Iko said.

“Hmm? Now?”

Kunon, who was reading a document with a sandwich in his hand, replied, “He said it can wait until after dinner.”

The master, the head of the Gurion family and Kunon’s father, is calling him.

This is Kunon, who lives away from home.

His family comes to see him once in a while, but it’s a little unusual for him to be summoned.

“Did I do something wrong?”

The last time I was summoned was in the summer, I think, when I sprayed a large area of colored water in the garden as an experiment.

As a result, the garden turned red, as if it had been submerged in a sea of blood, much to the surprise and horror of the family and servants.

–I finally succeeded in coloring and maintaining the water without the supply of magic power, so now I did an experiment to see the range of effect and the effective time.

I did get permission from the gardener.

However, the result made him cry, “I didn’t know this would happen…….”

I guess it was quite unexpected.

When his father came home, he was surprised and angry to see the garden so red that he could see it even at night and called him.

He scolded me a lot. I told him that it was just colored water, that it was harmless, and that it was an experiment, but he told me to put it back right away.

“I don’t think you’ve done anything to make master angry lately. You’ve learned your lesson after that bloody incident. I had nothing to do with it, but I was scolded as well…”

“Iko you were the one who suggested we do the experiment. You are indeed involved.”

"I would never have thought you’d do something so drastic like that though.”

“Didn’t you tell me that if we were going to do it, we should do it flamboyantly?”

“That was way too flashy.”

–The two of them didn’t realize that they had poured even more oil on the fire by placing the blame on each other in front of kunon's father.

“But I don’t mind that kind of thing, do you?”

“Me neither. Everyone was very surprised. No one can deny that it was an exciting addition to our peaceful life. It’s good for a change.”

At any rate, the results of the experiment were valuable.

People are surprised when they suddenly see a pool of blood.

Just knowing this, Kunon was satisfied.

–After all, he may have become a little too bright.

After dinner, he and the house servant went to the main building.

“It’s cold.”

It’s a little far, so we’ll have to walk.

The path to the main building was paved with flat stones for one person, so that Kunon could walk normally. We walked on it with our walking sticks.

It is winter now.

It was nighttime, and the wind was cold.

Kunon doesn’t pay attention to the calendar or the seasons, but at times like this, he remembers the time of year.

“Bring out that thing, please.”

“Hmm? oh okay.”

When Kunon snaps his fingers, a “Water Ball A Ori” is born, which is about the size of a human head.

There are two of them.

One is in front of Kunon’s face to protect him from the wind.

The other floats in front of the servant walking behind him.

“It’s so warm! It’s like jelly!”

The “water ball,” with its “slightly hotter than human skin” and “super flexible skin,” is a simple pocket warmer.

The servant loves them.

She said that the “softball of water,” which only deforms when pressed, is mysterious and feels good to touch.

Kunon learned that women like this kind of thing, since Milica also liked it.

By the way, in summer, the “low temperature” is active.

This seems to help, as everyone likes it, even if they are not women.

“Mr. Kunon, we’ve been expecting you.”

“Yes.”

Baren, the old butler, who was waiting for me at the entrance, led me through the main building.

The destination was a reception room where guests were welcomed.

When Baren knocked and said, “Mr. Kunon has arrived,” a voice called out from inside, “Come in.”

From here on, Kunon is alone.

Leaving the butler and House servant behind, Kunon stepped into the office.

“You wanted to see me, Father–oh is it Mother and Brother?”

When I entered, the entire Gurion family was there.

My father, Arson.

My mother, Tinariza.

And my big brother, Ixio.

My parents come to see me about once a week, but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen my brother.

But Kunon knows.

They don’t see each other, but Ixio often comes to check on Kunon.

–According to the house servant, Ixio took Kunon out to play when he was little, but Kunon fell and hurt himself, and since then he has not known how to treat him.

What does it mean to be blind?

Being a small child at that time, It was then that he finally understood what it meant to be blind.

Kunon, however, did not remember.

He had fallen and been injured countless times so that he couldn’t be bothered anymore.

“Kunon. Sit down.”

“Yes.”

As if I could see him, I sat down next to my brother without feeling any unnaturalness.

I’ve been working out a lot, and now Kunon can distinguish all colors within the range of this room.

Across the table in front of him are his parents, and next to them is his brother.

“Have you studied the scope of the noble school?’

“Yes, sir. Ms. Flora said I was finished.”

Baroness Flora Garden was Kunon’s tutor for classroom learning.

Since learning to read, Kunon’s learning speed has become much faster.

For his part, though, he wants to get rid of the troublesome things as soon as possible and concentrate on his magic training.

“As I asked you before, are you planning to go to school?

“No. I don’t want to be a distraction to others.”

Kunon thought to himself, “If it’s like that at home, it’s even worse outside.”

No, he used to think so.

–He thinks that he can go to school normally now.

But his priority is not school, and he has no intention of going now in a different way.

“Did I tell you? I’m not sure if I’ve told you, but Kunon, you are technically enrolled in the noble school.”

“Ah, yes. I think I heard it from Ms. Flora.”

We talked about this in class.

That’s why she told me if I wanted to go to school I could always go. She must have decided Kunon’s state now is able to go.

Of course, I replied that I had no intention of going.

“As I recall, children of noble families are obligated to attend the school.”

“That’s right. Well, because of your circumstances, His Majesty has given you permission not to attend. I don’t think it’s necessary for you now either. You can do what you want.”

This is the kind of support my father gives me.I’m sure he’s supporting me in ways that I won’t even realize.

“I just want you to think about it.”

“On how I should spend my allowance?”

“No, I’m not talking about how you spend money.”

“─ Father, you are always complaining about it. Sure, it may seem like a waste of money, but I’m spending it deliberately from my point of view.”

“I’m telling you, it’s not how you spend your allowance.”

“Father, thank you for always working for our family. I am very grateful.”

“That’s that! That’s not what I called you for!”

“I’m sorry about the blood.

“That’s all right for now, but if you ever do it again, you’ll lose your allowance for two months!”

Kunon shuddered.

He didn’t want to hear those words.
