The Yu Brothers’ Case Book

S2: Book 6: Chapter 10 + Epilogue

Afterwards, the hospital notified them that Jia Jia had been successfully rescued.

“Wang Hui Jia and Wei Jun are both fake names. Their student registrations and IDs are fabricated; the school is currently investigating the related transactions. The ones that actually possess those names seem to be different people.”

Ye Huan En and Ah Liu had taken the last train at midnight to arrive at the guesthouse that day. They were staying in the remaining available room. Ye Huan En said to Yu Yin and Xiao Yu in a slightly apologetic tone, “Xia was supposed to come originally, but he has a ton of things going on at his end. I hope you aren’t too disappointed to see me instead.” One of his tasks for this trip was to connect with the local police station and bring the two suspects back. Meanwhile, Ah Liu was assisting with the matters related to the disappeared corpse. Yu Xia had very violently expressed his desire to find any lingering trails.

“Stop teasing me, Ye-dàgē.” Yu Yin weakly stated, “…I really wish Dad and Uncle had just directly told me there was danger. Then I wouldn’t have come out here.”

“Work matters shouldn’t affect you guys. Officer Yu still wants you to live normal lives.” Ye Huan En very much empathised with this; he did not want his family to end up trapped in a circle due to work affairs either. It was just that they had not imagined the opponent to be so underhanded – moreso than they had anticipated.

“It’s unrelated to you.” Ah Liu patted the older boy’s shoulder and said, “The bad guys are the ones in the wrong, got it?”

“True, now I owe a bunch of meals to my classmates. If they rip me off with Ruth Chris, I’m screwed.” This time, Yu Yin was extremely apologetic towards Li Lin Yue, Ah Guan, Xiao Zhong, and everyone else. Despite his complaints, he believed that even if he did get ripped off with high expenses, these friends of his were very much worth it.

Then, there was also Dong Feng…

As he began to contemplate how to apologise and whether gifting an entire set of carving tools would work, the person sitting next to him tugged his clothes. He turned his head to see Yu staring straight at him. “I know, letting you eat to your heart’s content at a dessert place right?” Even if his brain is freakily good, he’s the same as any other person when it comes to scheming.

The moment Yu Yin responded, Yu happily let go.

“Eating a hearty meal once in a while isn’t a bad thing. Alright, let’s get some rest; I’m exhausted after being on the train for many hours. You guys should hurry on to bed too.” Ye Huan En stood with a kind smile and retreated out of the room with his colleague.

The guesthouse owner had arranged a vacant room for them on the first floor. Originally, it would have been quite a popular room with its French window and small balcony that overlooked a mini garden. But since someone had just been stabbed in the garden that morning, the visitors had requested to be changed into other spare rooms out of safety concerns.

Upon opening the door of their room, they saw the obvious presence of another person in the dark space.

“Why not turn on the lights?”

Ye Huan En switched the power on and placed his luggage on the rack next to the door. Then Ah Guan entered after him and carefully closed the door.

“Just taking utmost caution.”

Xiang Zhen Rong, who had been sitting inside for a long time already, smiled as he scooted over to one side and tossed a paper bag at the other person. “Senior, your leg is looking much better than before. But did it not completely heal?”

“I’ve had therapy, but I’m still limping a bit. Nothing more can be done.” Ye Huan En shrugged and patted his junior on the head. “You’ve worked hard this time.”

“It’s nothing.” Xiang Zhen Rong—one of the officers that Yu Xia had arranged to join the trip—had originally been assisting the matter with the racing gang. His main task had been to mingle with the gang and report relevant information to the police for Yu Tong and the others to continue chasing after the blonde’s remaining people and their supporting organisation. He had eventually gotten close to Ah Guan by accident, so he had been transferred over to help protect the children this time.

Naturally, Yu Xia had not sought him alone. The drivers of the vans and the visitors at the nearby guesthouse were all rotated in and out with their people at random times.

“Ah Yin and Xiao Yu should have mostly figured it out.” Ah Liu had noticed that the older boy had appeared to be somewhat aware of everything while telling them about the past two days’ events, though he had not broken their farce.

“I think they probably have. Ah Yin was quite cooperative and didn’t ask me anything.” Xiang Zhen Rong had felt this as well. “But Dong Feng knew I was the police from the start. He’s really astute.” Dong Feng hadn’t selected him to go out to the post office and bookstore without reason. Almost instantly after leaving the guesthouse, Dong Feng had ruthlessly interrogated him about being the police, which had scared Xiang Zhen Rong into thinking he had exposed himself somehow.

“That child is an exception.” I bet he could tell if an alien mixed in with them too. Ah Liu was deeply convinced of this.

“How intriguing. It’s a pity I can’t introduce myself to them yet. I’ll tell them my real name after everything’s over.” Of course, that wasn’t the name he was currently using. Xiang Zhen Rong passed Ye Huan En to prepare tea for everyone. “Good thing I wasn’t in the photos, or else things would’ve been really troublesome.” Having been with the racing gang for a long time, he had not gone in and out of the police station and therefore had not become a target. That was why Yu Xia had privately sought his help.

“For the sake of future cases, it’s best if you take care not to be exposed…wait.”

He abruptly sensed that something was wrong. If Xiang Zhen Rong had not been exposed, that meant Wei Jun’s target was not Xiang Zhen Rong, and the police officer they wanted to kill was not him. The moment Ye Huan En considered this, he realised that they had fallen into a trap. “Quick, shut off the lights!”

Those people knew that the moment something happened here, there would undoubtedly be personnel dispatched.

The prank had been meant to draw their attention. Jia Jia’s paper had told them not to come rather than to run away.

The police had not appeared when Dong Feng had fallen into the ocean, nor had they appeared when the corpse had been found. That was why the organisation had sentenced Jia Jia to be killed for rebelling, with certainty that the police would arrive.

It’s also very likely that Jia Jia didn’t rebel at all.

Before he could finish pondering all possibilities, something struck the tightly closed window and directly bore a small hole through the glass before shattering the mug placed on the table.

“Sigh, they should’ve taken note of my data.” Ye Huan En withdrew his gun from his jacket and narrowed his eyes while calculating the attacker’s location. Then he directly pointed his gun and accurately struck the opposite party’s shoulder.

A muffled groan came from the darkness. The officer hiding nearby immediately restrained the suspect.

Perhaps due to the fact that the lodging had been changed last minute, the opposite party had not planned out surrounding escape routes and was soon subdued.

“Hm, it really is the angler that attacked Dong Feng. He has a head wound, and his appearance is very similar to what Dong Feng sketched.” Dong Feng had sent over a sketch of the angler along with the sketch of the corpse, but he had specifically emphasised that he had not truly seen the opponent, and merely remembered an outline under his hands’ grip. Ah Liu stowed his gun away and let out a sigh of relief. At least they had helped avenge the boy.

“Then I should’ve hit a more painful place just now.” Ye Huan En felt a tinge of regret. If he had known earlier, he would’ve fired two more shots to vent on the children’s behalf.

“In that case, you might as well have let me fire. My shooting is super terrible, and I might’ve accidentally struck multiple areas.” Xiang Zhen Rong felt regretful as well. “Alright, I’m going back to my room first.”

“Be careful by yourself.”

“You too.”

***

Yu Yin felt extremely chilly in the middle of the night.

It wasn’t the type of chilliness from the cold weather, but a frigid cold that came straight from the bones.

When he was unable to endure it any longer, he shot up and discovered that he was sitting in the bed of their original guesthouse.

This time, he was well aware that he was dreaming. Yu was not sleeping next to him, and the air of the room was below freezing. He unconsciously turned his head and spotted the girl sitting on a chair with her head lowered. Her knotted, long hair still covered her face, and her bare skin was rotted to the bone.

“Did you…pass away at 3:10?”

Yu Yin asked casually as he pulled his blanket off. For some reason, he did not feel any fear.

The girl did not directly answer his question. She slowly raised a hand that was missing fingers and pointed at the clock on the cabinet. The needles were pointing at 3:10, just as before.

“You…”

Yu Yin abruptly jolted awake.

He sat up with wide eyes. Yu was in deep sleep by his side.

Did she not die at 3:10?

“Ah!”

Don’t tell me it’s even more straightforward than that!

He jerked his head up and caught sight of someone standing in front of their bed. The pale face under the dim glow of the night light startled the unguarded Yu Yin.

With the darkness now receding, Wei Qi Xin stood there staring at him.

“D-do you need something else?” Yu Yin patted his chest. He had assumed that this matter had ended. Based on his prior experience, it should have gone wherever it was supposed to, doing whatever it should be doing, which was why he had gotten quite the scare just now.

The youth shot him a look, then slowly turned its head to face the charging tablet nearby.

Yu Yin followed its line of sight and spotted the light flicker a few times before switching to a chat website. Then it automatically logged in with a username and password, swiftly loading the past chat logs.

A different nickname, a journal to express himself away from his acquaintances.

Sometimes, it was easier to directly convey one’s emotions with a stranger.

The words written here were purely angry complaints towards that woman. It was simple yet relieving, just a means to balance out emotions.

The person had replied in a private message.

BBQ: Then do you want her to disappear? It wouldn’t be a pity considering how loathsome she is.

BBQ: You don’t have to worry about handling anything, none of it would be related to you.

BBQ: You just need to say the word.

Pancho: Thanks, but no need. I have a better idea.

“…You met him?”

Yu Yin stared at the other boy in faint surprise. He hadn’t imagined such a thing. Likely with the goal of resolving the issue as swiftly as possible, Dong Feng had focused entirely on the journal without investigating further on the other websites.

Come to think about it, Dong Feng did say that there were different websites and games used. There might be other records there too.

Based on the timestamps of the records, Wei Qi Xin had fallen into eternal slumber a few days afterwards.

When Yu Yin raised his head again, the youth had completely vanished.

Despite leaving, the webpage remained logged in.

Everything else can be handed to the police to sort out. Looking through his account now feels a bit like an invasion of privacy…actually, we were doing it before too, but it seems like “he” doesn’t have any intention of digging deeper into this matter. With an apologetic feeling, Yu Yin prepared to log out. Just then, the BBQ account suddenly lit up.

Yu Yin had not at all mentally prepared himself for the other party to be online. Before he could even register what had happened, they initiated a conversation.

BBQ: Who are you?

For a moment, Yu Yin did not know how to respond. He instinctively grabbed his phone to send a message to the faraway Jiu Shen. However, before he could press send, new words jumped onto the tablet screen.

BBQ: Not talking? Then let me try guessing.

BBQ: In any case, not the police.

That guy actually guessed right!

Yu Yin mentally ranted a string of curses at the bastard on the other side and picked up the tablet. After a brief moment of thought, Yu Yin began to respond.

Pancho: Why do you say not the police?

BBQ: If you’re asking that, then you definitely aren’t. You are very predictable.

Pancho: I’m me.

BBQ: Only if you crawled up from hell.

BBQ: It doesn’t matter, just keep this account.

BBQ: I will come find you again.

Without giving Yu Yin any time to type again, the other party went offline.

Yu Yin stared at the words for a few seconds. After some contemplation, he deleted the text that he had not yet sent.

He was not certain if this account was Su Zhang’s, but it was clear as day that this BBQ knew Wei Qi Xin had died. In other words, he knew the true identity of his chat partner.

If Yu Yin handed this account over now, the other person might not reappear.

While pondering what to do, Yu Yin unconsciously turned around and spotted Yu had at some point already stood up, wide awake as he watched Yu Yin.

“…When did you wake up?”

Yu did not reply, but his expression was solemn.

“You were awake from the start?”

“Mn.”

There was a response this time, but Yu Yin knew that this kid had definitely observed everything. Since Yu Yin had been entirely absorbed by the website just now, he had not noticed he was being watched. “You know what I’m thinking, don’t you?”

“Mn.”

Yu Yin scratched his head awkwardly as he wondered how he could persuade the other person to let him keep the account for a bit.

“If you want to use it, you must come to me.” Yu broke the silence first as he stated, “If you don’t agree, I’ll tell Uncle.”

“Then let’s agree to that.” Yu Yin hurriedly complied with the condition with slight relief. “But it’s just for now. I’ll tell Dad and Uncle myself when there’s a suitable chance.”

“Mn.”

Yu lifted his pinky and very seriously declared, “Promise.”

“It’s a promise.”

***

The next afternoon, Yu Yin and Yu were arranged to return to the central district with Li Lin Yue and Xiang Zhen Rong by train.

The reason it was in the afternoon was because Dong Feng had transferred hospitals in the morning. They had gone over to help grab luggage and whatnot. Only once they had confirmed Dong Feng and his mother had smoothly gotten their ride had they switched gears to head out themselves.

At the time, Yu Yin had wanted to apologise to Dong Feng about the accident. But before he could even open his mouth, the other seemed to have seen through him, telling him to shut up and not talk nonsense, then angrily firing words like: “it has nothing to do with you, don’t have any wild thoughts”. At that point, the lady had walked over, and they had stopped their conversation.

Being completely out of the loop, Ah Guan grumbled about why they couldn’t continue having fun with the others, since they could catch up if they left now. Then he was beaten up by Li Lin Yue. The rest of the group met up with the people who had gone on earlier. Per original plans, they continued with their vacation now that everything was fine.

Ye Huan En, who had driven them around, received a call that the police located the missing corpse. However, the corpse was destroyed, having been stuffed in a large oil barrel and set on fire. After receiving the report and searching through the valley, the police only managed to find unidentifiable remains. The person who had started the fire seemed to have very intentionally aimed to prevent them from obtaining anything; aside from using a large amount of fuel, they had burned other things with it, mashing everything together. When the flames cooled down, only bones remained in half a barrel of dark brown, viscous fluid.

Ah Liu stated that the instant he’d seen the barrel and its constants, he had sworn to stuff the perpetrator’s head into the barrel too.

It was not surprising for the situation to end up like this. Rather, they had mentally prepared themselves when the corpse had first gone missing. It was just that seeing the scene had still been infuriating. In any case, they could only wait and see if Ah Liu could find any clues from this.

“Oh right, I forgot to give this to Ah Liu-gē.” When Yu Yin put his hands in his pocket, he remembered the wad of gum and TF card. Since so many things had happened after [finding it], he’d nearly forgotten about the matter entirely. “Although I don’t know if it’s that woman’s or not, you guys can take a look at it.”

“Alright, thank you.” Ye Huan En took the item and glanced at Xiang Zhen Rong before turning to face Yu Yin. “Be careful on your way back. I’ve contacted Officer Yu’s group; once you get off the train, you’ll see our people there to receive you.”

Despite wanting to reply that there was no need for the hassle, the current situation forced Yu Yin to obediently swallow his words back down.

Thus, they returned home without incident.

Afterwards, Wei Jun and Jia Jia were sent back to Yu Xia’s group to deal with.

The gun that Wei Jun had used bore that same scratched symbol. They found an identical tattoo on his lower leg as well.

However, the two never uttered a single word, leaving them deadlocked.

Ah Liu brought back quite a few items to inspect, with several shipped back from the guesthouse. In particular, there was the clock that Yu Yin had informed them about. Between the needles frozen at 3:10, they retrieved clear fingerprints. It appeared that someone had opened the cover of the clock and intentionally left something inside. They also extracted usable DNA from the gum, while the TF card had a scan of a personal ID stored inside it. The female headshot was identical to the sketch Dong Feng had made.

“Looks like she knew she would die.”

Yu Xia came to this conclusion as he read the report.

Their next step would be to secretly investigate the background and identity of the woman who had worn the guise of a gynaecologist.

***

Yu Yin’s team smoothly completed their graduation product. Right as they were about to start preparing for the exhibition with classmates, another gas explosion occurrence appeared on the news.

It was quite a normal cause, namely that the stove had not been used carefully. The fire hadn’t been properly shut off and the house hadn’t been ventilated. This led to the homeowner being sent to the hospital after arriving home and getting severely injured.

At home that night, Yu Yin found out that the homeowner had been the person who had sued Meng Pin Si’s younger brother.

“We checked the chat website and the logs there. Meng Pin Si’s little brother did indeed turn down the other party, so BBQ never contacted back again.” Yu Tong paused for a beat after telling this to his son.

“But isn’t this a coincidence?” At first listen, Yu Yin had assumed it was a coincidence, but his dad’s expression made it appear that wasn’t the case.

“…Did you keep in contact with Meng Pin Si?”

Yu Yin shook his head, uncertain of what the reason for this question was.

Upon returning from the trip, Meng Pin Si hadn’t contacted him again, nor had he taken the initiative to reach out to her. He later heard from Li Lin Yue that the girl had seemingly caught her eye on another male student in their vacation group, with the two of them now dating. She had also criticised him for not grabbing the right opportunity. Yu Yin personally hadn’t thought much of it, as he simply wanted to finish his graduation stuff first…

“Meng Pin Si’s little brother confirmed that he never contacted BBQ afterwards. But we discovered from the records that Meng Pin Si herself used that chatroom to talk with BBQ.”

In that moment, Yu Yin’s mind was still processing questions and thus did not realise what this meant.

Yu Tong patted his son’s shoulder. “Don’t cross paths with her anymore, alright?”

Then, Yu Yin suddenly recalled every action Meng Pin Si had made during the trip.

Why had she specifically told him about Jia Jia’s tattoo?

Had telling him about the chatroom been aimless or intentional? Had the gentle-looking girl really joined them simply to chase away her concerns?

All of a sudden, he was unable to tell.

***

“Did you tell him about the other matter?”

As Yu Tong left the room, he spotted his brother moving the potted plants in their yard. The latter stopped his work upon seeing the former walk out and added, “The matter with that woman.”

“No.” Yu Tong strode over and crouched down. “He doesn’t need to know.”

In the morning before the gas explosion, a woman had requested for them at the police station…or rather than them, she had been requesting for Yu Yin.

The woman’s name had been Lai Hui Chun.

There was no knowing how she had found her information, but she had directly come looking for them.

At the time, Yu Tong had gone to discuss work with Li Zi Hong, so Yu Xia had simply presented himself as Yu Yin’s father.

“So he’s a cop’s child, no wonder he knew of those things.”

The woman snorted with an expression of disdain and bluntly declared, “I want the university student called Yu Yin.”

After Yu Xia unyieldingly rejected her request, the woman had likely realised that Yu Xia was not the type to cave under anything, so without further discussion, she’d asked him to pass on a message.

“Tell him not to stick his nose into others’ business.”

“I don’t regret marrying someone else back then. Ultimately, it was Qi Xin’s dad who had sworn to give me a good life, yet he had been unable to do so in the end. There was no reason for me to spend bitter days with him…As for Qi Xin, he was the one who made his choice, and the blame can’t all be put on me. He’s an adult too, he should know to pursue his own lifestyle. At that age, one has to be reasonable. The difficult problems shouldn’t be pushed onto me, they’re his personal matters.”

“The most disgusting part is that I had no desire to know about Qi Xin at all. That child of yours invaded others’ privacy for no reason. Watch your own children…Though, seeing how the father looks like another one that carelessly had children in senior high, it’s not surprising for the child to act so dubiously. Hmph, to think you’re a cop.”

The reason Yu Xia hadn’t beaten her up was because Ye Huan En had been there to hold him back.

“I do not regret any of my choices.”

After making this declaration, the woman had whipped around to leave.

The boy following behind her had taken two steps before suddenly turning to smile at Yu Xia and lifting up a second finger to his lips as a gesture to stay quiet.

Then he’d raised his hand in the air as though to hold hands with someone, and had run off.

“There’s no need for Ah Yin to know that.”

Yu Tong had absolutely no intention of telling his children about this incident. “They won’t cross paths with her again in the future anyways.”

He believed that Wei Qi Xin would not seek out Yu Yin anymore.

They would never know what happened to the woman in the future.

“Hmph.” Yu Xia let out a cold scoff as he picked up the last potted plant. “It’s here.”

The filled pot was heavier than it appeared. He moved aside the plants and dirt to reveal a small device covered with a waterproof film. It had a flickering yellow light.

Yu Xia removed the foreign item and placed the potted plant back. “Playing this kind of trick, huh.”

“Do you think that BBQ is Su Zhang?” Yu Tong very casually asked as he patted off the dirt from Yu Xia’s clothes.

“No shit, that bastard is purposely waiting for us to find him.”

Meng Pin Si had flatly denied having further contact with the internet friend. She had only wanted to ask if the other party was deceiving her little brother, and the matter was left unsettled afterwards. The logs from the website showed the same.

Despite this, during the police’s interrogation of other students, quite a few of them had mentioned Meng Pin Si occasionally leaving her cellphone behind to search for a public telephone instead.

Who she had called and what she had said were still unknowns.

“Su Zhang has been searching nonstop for a candidate, and he deliberately wants us to know of these things.”

Yu Xia was certain of at least this point after the series of recent incidents.

“Wei Jun and Lin Zi Lei are part of a group, while Su Zhang is a single person. But there are definitely multiple people ‘helping him’.”

Yu Xia had noticed this back when they had traced cars following Yu Yin’s disappearance.

It had not been something Su Zhang could have achieved alone, advancing along the path while finding a necessary vehicle in a precise and timely manner—in other words, the car owner had been in a preset obligation during that time in order to not immediately notice their stolen car and report it to the police to affect Su Zhang’s plans—this required long-term observation of the car owner, the car, and the surroundings to be successful.

Therefore, it was impossible for Su Zhang to have formulated such a plan in a short period of time. Furthermore, the escapee had not given any advance notice of the date back then.

They could hence surmise that a group was providing various information and preparations for him to use at any moment. This was also the main reason it was extremely difficult to capture him.

“He’ll help you eliminate the things you hate the most so that you don’t need to dirty your hands, as long as you provide a bit of assistance when needed, right?” Yu Tong was likewise aware of this. He believed that the most troublesome part was that they had no way of knowing exactly how many people Su Zhang had killed, and how many others had come into contact with Su Zhang along with these victims.

“At least we’re not completely ignorant of him now.”

Seeing as Su Zhang was intentionally leaving a trail for them in front of their faces, Yu Xia would absolutely destroy the mastermind.

“We’ll figure out his identity very soon, won’t we?” Yu Tong clenched his hands into fists. “That includes the organisation behind Jia Jia as well. They will not stay smug for long.”

“We’ll cut them from their roots sooner or later.”

Yu Xia formed a fist to bump it against his brother’s.

“Leave!”

A hand reached out to open the front door that had been tightly closed for a long time.

“Eh, my junior was finally released back~”

Dong Feng automatically shot back, “I’m not your junior!” He spun around and spotted the despicable bastard walk over from the stairwell. His senior had likely told this guy about him leaving home.

And my senior definitely heard it from my mother.

Upon returning, he had been forced to stay at that home for a period of time due to his flesh wounds. Just as before, he had only been able to leave once his injuries had completely healed.

During that time, he had chatted with Jiu Shen several times. The items he had express-mailed over back then never did arrive, but when they checked the delivery tracking, they confirmed that someone had signed the package for receipt. Yet they were unable to track its whereabouts; it had evaporated into thin air for no obvious reason.

To prevent inadvertently alerting the enemy, they had suppressed the event for the time being.

“Sighhh, can’t you be a bit friendlier? I came all the way to celebrate with yummy food.” Yan Si lifted the small box in his hand and passed it over to the person standing at the doorway. He was very accustomed to obediently waiting outside without entering.

Dong Feng originally wanted to smash the box onto the other’s face, but when he caught sight of Yang De Cheng’s restaurant logo, he silently brought it into the home.

“You should be completely recovered, right? Do your fingers still hurt anywhere? You’re technically someone that makes a living, so it would be a regretful loss.” Yan Si leaned against the door and glanced at the completely cracked, half-finished clay product on the table that would probably be thrown away. Tsk, truly a waste. Then Dong Feng shot him a vicious glare, so he turned to face away from the house, staring at the outside wall instead as he usually did.

Dong Feng unconsciously stared down at his own hands. After a long period of recovery, they had basically healed back, but with occasional pangs…But that has nothing to do with that guy outside. Dong Feng plopped down to sit in front of his work counter and opened the paper box. The first thing that wafted out was the faint scent of honey. Then he saw a small, simple handmade cake. It was slightly orange, and did not have many decorations.

Yang De Cheng would occasionally stick in one or two solid foods in with the liquid-type meals. Dong Feng knew that everyone was determined to train him into eating normal foods.

“It took him a long time to personally make that. It required complicated handiwork, and half a day to finish. Don’t waste his kindness~” The very unwasteful Yan Si had eaten a large amount of test products while waiting at the restaurant. Despite calling them test products, they significantly surpassed most cake shop standards; naturally the final product did too. “It’s super~delicious~ You’ll regret not eating it, and get struck by lightning.”

Dong Feng ignored the nonsense coming from outside and sliced off a small piece to place into his mouth. The cake was not too sweet, and its moistness made it easy to eat. It also just happened to be a flavour he liked…When did I start to have taste preferences?

Even though I’d clearly lost such feelings long ago.

Originally, all I felt was nausea no matter what I ate.

“Oh yeah, I also brought some rehabilitation balls, since I saw in your medical files that you had injured your muscles and bones from the fall into the ocean. When you aren’t doing anything, you can grip these…”

Before he could finish speaking, he sensed the aura of someone approaching from behind.

“…Come in and take a seat.”

Dong Feng immediately turned to return into the house after quietly speaking.

“I’m so touched~ I never thought I’d finally be welcomed like a human being! Waaaaa~~~” Yan Si whipped his head around and wiped away tears as he honestly confessed out of his heart’s kindness, “Coming here just to deliver a healthy and nourishing carrot cake was not in vain after all, the bunny is grown up nowwwww~~~” Yang De Cheng had been beyond intense, going as far as to ensure that the carrot could not be tasted. He had known that being picky wouldn’t end well, especially when it was being picky about a chef’s food.

Dong Feng froze, and the first thought that came to his mind was that he had truly been brainless as he furiously roared:

“Get lost right this instant!”
