Twin Soul

Chapter 4: (4/8)

Imreia rushed toward to assist Kain but Alereth flew down to block her path. Alereth was faster since she could fly, and Imreia could not. Left with no other option, Imreia was forced to continue fighting with Alereth. Imreia thought to herself, "Looks like this time is no different. My Conjurer will lose. Why can't I get a good conjurer? Why did all the Conjurer Mages that managed to conjure me end up dead? Is The Watcher of this realm playing with me or something?"

Like everyone watching the battle had guessed, the Thunder Eagle quickly wiped out four Skeleton Warriors. Just one left, this Skeleton will soon be dead as well. As the Eagle was about to attack the Skeleton, it was shot down by an Astral Arrow. Imreia could not get to Kain's location, but she can still use her bow to protect him from far away. Alereth used this chance to strike at Imreia using the scythe and cut down her right arm.

Imreia's right arm quickly grew back but it seems to be not functioning as she had to avoid fighting with Alereth and kept on dodging her attacks. Lora commanded the Phantom Knight to go attack Kain's last Skeleton while the Fire Demon stayed to protect her. Just to be sure, Lora casted [Conjure Skeleton Warriors] ten times and commanded them to assist the Phantom.

Arthur Castillon did not expect Kain to win this match. The reason he lost to Kain before was because of the level difference. Arthur was a level 10 Conjurer Mage while Kain was at level 15 in Conjuration Magic. Just like now, not only Lora is a Master Conjurer Mage, but she is currently at the highest level of the Master tier which is level 30. Kain is also a Master Conjurer Mage but he is still at level 25. Five levels different is a big gap in power. It could take years for Kain to reach Lora's current level. Even so, Arthur hoped to see Kain win. He has never been so proud of losing to Kain before as he did today after seeing how quickly Kain killed Oletha, the strongest magic caster of the opponent's team.

Sofia, Jaane, Vincenzo, Faziel, and all the other Nosh's students were hoping that Kain would surrender before getting killed. Kain has done a great job of taking out two members of the opponent's team. Even if Kain chooses to surrender, no one in the audience would laugh or look down on him. Well, except for Sinerin's students and their d**k head professors.

Sofia was not young and naive. She knows exactly how she felt about Kain. But Jaane, she was confused about why her heart was beating faster than normal. Every time Jaane saw Kain was in danger, she just wanted to use her Earth Magic to protect him. Was it because they shared the same last name? Who cares, let's move on.

Seeing one Phantom and ten Skeletons approaching, Kain calmly laughed. How many times will this happen? How many times do these idiots have to look down on him thinking there would be no way for him to win? Can't they learn that there is nothing such as an absolute victory until the battle is over? First Oletha, now Lora. Eoran was not as strong compared to those two. So far, he was the only one in the opponent's team who took the battle seriously by putting all of his power into the fight. That match gave Kain the excitement he has urged for.

Lora was revived with a full mana pool. She should have conjured as many creatures as she can or activate [Mana Infusion] then test out her luck on conjuring another strong creature such as the Empress Ice Gargoyle. By that way, Lora can have a guaranteed win against Kain. But no... She chose to reserve her mana for the next battle because in her head she has already won this match.

Kain gave the order for his Skeleton, "It is time. Slay them quickly then finish that magic caster off. Gave her no chance to react."

Earlier, when Kain casted [Conjure Skeleton Warriors] one hundred times in the battle with Oletha, he was using the blood pool inside his Blood Pendant. The last Skeleton Warrior was conjured has used the amount of blood three hundred times higher compared to the other ninety-nine. Other people thought Kain intentionally conjured one hundred Skeletons, but not at all. He just wanted to conjure one strong Skeleton and used the other ninety-nine to cover its true power. This Skeleton wields a spear instead of one sword and a shield compared to the other. At first, Kain was disappointed to conjure such a weak Skeleton that is almost no difference compared to the rest. But then, his attitude quickly changed after tapping into the abyss link between him and that Skeleton. Nothing special about that Skeleton, it used to be human just like the other ninety-nine. However, it stepped into Saint-tier warrior rank before being killed by a stronger Saint warrior. At that time, Kain secretly gave the order for the Human Saint Skeleton for not fighting seriously until given permission to.

Receiving Kain's permission now, the Saint Skeleton dashed through Lora's Phantom and her ten weak ass Skeletons. Lora just laughed because she was thinking Kain's Skeleton was making the last desperate move to buy him some time to escape. A Conjurer Mage without a conjured creature to protect, there is nowhere for Kain to run. Alereth may not be able to defeat Imreia, but keeping her busy to prevent Imreia from protecting Kain was good enough.

"Oh? How is that Skeleton Warrior managed to run toward here? Fire Demon, take it out." Lora gave the command for her Demon to attack the Saint Skeleton. Lora does not know how that Skeleton avoided getting killed by her Phantom and ten Skeletons, but that really does not matter. Her Demon will soon take it out as the other creatures tear Kain to pieces. Lora prayed to The Watcher for Kain not to surrender as she wanted to watch him die in a painful way. Kain dared to kill Oletha, now the same fate will apply to him.

As a Conjurer Mage, Lora could feel the abyss links between her conjured creatures connected to her at all times. In just four seconds, eleven links were... gone. "Wait, what? How?" Lora asked herself as she saw Kain was just standing still. Imreia was still being kept busy by Alereth. At the time Lora realized what happened, the abyss link connected between her and the Demon was gone also. Lora quickly chants for [Shadow Clone] but her head was cut off before she could cast it.
